Penelope smiled as she walked through the house, keeping her eye out for party-goers as she passed. People were stumbling and whooping, dancing and singing, having a good time. She didn't want to be in anyone's way, so she slipped by quickly so as to not disturb whatever game or conversation was going on. No one seemed to really notice her.

It was strange, at least to her. She didn't usually wear smiles so happy and big to parties like this. It had also been a long time since she had been to a high school party, almost a year, and typically she had a friend by her side. She was traversing well on her own as she tried to find one or more of her friends, but she felt fine making her way alone.

She guessed it had something to do with Hawk and the new tear in her tights. He'd made her feel so loved, so safe, so happy when they were together. Not just in that dark bedroom, but everytime they were together. No matter where they were or what was going on, his presence made everything feel right. So long as she knew he was there, somewhere in the house, she felt okay. She felt safe.

They'd parted ways some time ago, but she still felt a little flustered from the encounter. He'd filled her with butterflies, told her how pretty she was, and made love to her as if they weren't supposed to be attending Moon's party. It didn't matter, because she'd been with him and all either of them had wanted at that moment was each other.

Her legs were still a little shaky and sore, but walking hid it well.

As she rounded the corner, she caught sight of dark hair above the general crowd. She walked over and tapped him on the arm, smiling up at him as she waved once he turned to her.

"Hey," Demetri greeted her kindly. He had a drink in his hand and an awkward smile on his face. He was unfamiliar with the party scene, something that had been made obviously apparent to Penelope when she'd watched him hold up Trivial Pursuit on the way to the house. "Where have you been?"

Nowhere really, she signed to him, keeping it simple since his sign wasn't the best yet.

He took a moment to process what she had said before nodding. "Yeah, same honestly. I've just been walking around aimlessly. But then-"

"Dem! Demetri!" an all too familiar voice shouted.

Frankie approached from the side, presumably from the next room, as she elbowed people to get by. She wore a wide grin, her eyes blank as she walked over to the pair. The flannel she had been wearing had been shrugged off and left behind somewhere, leaving her in a tight black tank top that had a massive hand printed across the front that gave everyone she faced the finger.

She came to a stop and looked up at Demetri, her eyebrows scrunching up to glare at him as she held out her hand. "I'll take my drink back now."

He obeyed, handing over the drink he had been holding. He watched her happily take a swig from it before laughing loudly. "How many of those have you had?"

"I lost count hours ago," Frankie chuckled.

Penelope took the cup from her and handed it back to Demetri, her smile gone.

"Hey! That's mine!" Frankie whined. She reached for it again, but Demetri wore a conflicted look as he held it away from her. His eyes darted between her and Penelope, clearly uncertain of what to do.

Penelope shook her head to him before gently taking Frankie by the arm. She'd had way too much to drink and was borderline belligerent in the worst way possible: drunkenly. She started pulling her away from their friend, who stood startled and confused, unsure of his role in the situation, and Frankie huffed.

"Pen-Pen, I wanna have fun!" she whined again.

She pulled her arm out of her cousin's grasp, but this proved to be the wrong move, as she ended up spinning in a circle, stumbling, and tripping over her own feet. She would have hit the floor hard had it not been for Penelope catching her arm, holding it firmer.
