"Why are his wounds not healing?" Val asked worriedly.
Cole is lying unconscious on the sofa. Val is referring to the wounds on his arm. Someone carved something on his arm addressed to me. It's a location. Jed said that it's an abandoned house near Haling Cove High.
I'm still in shock. Halos hindi magproseso sa akin ang nangyari. Cole was attacked. My sister is missing. Nanginginig ang katawan ko dahil sa takot at kaba.
Is she okay? Who in the hell took her?
I don't know what to do. I wanted to call my parents but the message in Cole's arm said I need to go there alone or Kaylee will die. I wanted to go there immediately after seeing the message but the Parker siblings stopped me saying it's too dangerous. Wala kaming alam sa nangyayari at masyadong delikado kung susugod ako ng walang plano.
"I think those wounds are linked to his consciousness. He was blasted by a powerful sleeping spell. We need to find a way to wake him up. Maybe he can tell us what happened."
Napabalik ako sa katinuan dahil sa sinabi ni Jed. A spell? Wounds linked to consciousness? Something clicked inside my head. I'm familiar with this. Nabanggit na ito sa amin ni aunt Riley. I know that spell, and I know how to reverse it.
"I will go to the library. Maybe there's something in mom and dad's grimoires that can help us." saad ni Val.
Umiling ako sa kanya. "There's no need. I know what to do."
Nagtatakang tinignan ako ng magkapatid. They don't know about me being a witch but that's the least of my problems now. I need to save my sister. I approached Cole and started chanting the spell. Ramdam ko ang titig sa akin nung dalawa.
Unti unting bumukas ang mga mata ni Cole. The spell worked. Umupo siya habang dumadaing at hinawakan ang kanyang sugat na unti unti nang naghihilom.
"What happened?" tanong niya sa amin.
"We should be the one asking you that, dumbass Cole. What happened? Jed found you unconscious outside the house." Val asked.
Tila natauhan naman si Cole. Bigla siyang nataranta at iginala ang tingin sa paligid. "Where's Kaye?" nag aalalang tanong niya.
"You were alone when I found you." simpleng sabi ni Jed.
Cole mumbled some curses.
"What happened, Cole?" seryosong tanong ko.
He closed his eyes firmly before answering. "It was Wes. He knows about you and Kaylee."
Nanlamig ang buong katawan ko. Unti unting nag alab ang matinding galit sa aking dibdib. I clenched my fist. I'm gonna kill him.
"I need to save my sister." seryosong sabi ko at nagmartsa palabas ng bahay.
Sumunod naman silang tatlo sa akin.
"We won't let you go there alone." wika ni Cole.
Tumigil ako sa paglalakad at hinarap sila. "You saw the message. He will kill Kaylee if I don't go there alone." inis na sabi ko.
Alam kong nag aalala sila, ngunit ayaw kong ipagsawalang bahala mensahe. I can't risk my sister getting killed.
"I will cloak us. We won't let you go there alone." seryosong sabi ni Val.
Tumango naman ang kapatid niya. "No one will see us. But if something bad happens, we'll back you up."
Wala na akong nagawa nang hinila ako ni Val papasok sa sasakyan ni Cole. Umupo kami sa backseat samantalang si Jed naman ay umupo sa front seat. Habang nasa byahe, hinawakan ni Val ang kamay ko at marahan itong pinisil. She smiled at me, assuring everything will be alright. Tipid akong ngumiti pabalik.
