The thing I hate the most is death. Losing someone important to you hurts like hell. You will miss them. You will think of all the things you didn't say to them. You will want to drag them back out of the grave to make amends, to tell them how much you love them, to give them the hugs and affection you didn't give when they were still alive. You will live in so much regret, which haunts you for the rest of your life. I hate it.
"What happened here?" tanong ng kararating na si Isaiah.
Itinaboy niya ang mga nakikiusisang mga estudyante at isinara ang pinto. Ang tanging naiwan kasama niya ay ako, si Kaye, Val, Jassy at Marcial.
"Dad, Mikhael is gone." humihikbing sabi ni Jassy at yumakap sa kanyang ama.
Nasa magkabilang gilid ko sila Val at Kaye na pawang mga lumuluha pa rin. Ako? Nakatulala lang. Hindi pa rin tuluyang nagproproseso sa akin ang nangyari.
"I went to one of my classmate's room to get a book she borrowed. When I came back, I found my brother lying on the floor and he's not breathing." umiiyak na sabi ni Marcial.
The note Jassy found on our doorstep before we left for dinner. It says Mikhael. It means someone's been planning to kill him before we even left. Damn it.
"The culprit is here." saad ko dahilan para mapatingin sa akin ang lahat.
"Someone left us a note with Mikhael's name on it. I should've given that note to Olivia when I first found it. This is all my fault."
Niyakap ng mahigpit ni Isaiah si Jassy. He looks so scared, and I get him. One of his students just died and there's a high possibility that the culprit is just lurking around.
"It's not your fault, Jassy." pagpapakalma ko sa kanya. "Maybe Mikhael saw who killed him."
Kumunot ang noo nilang lahat habang nakatingin sa akin.
"But Liv, he's dead. We can't ask him." naguguluhang sabi ni Val.
Umiling ako. "He will come back."
I'm sure, he will.
Tinignan ako ng seryoso ni Marcial. "What do you mean he will come back?"
Tipid akong ngumiti sa kanya. "He got injured while we were training earlier. I made him drink my blood to heal his wounds. He will come back, but as a witch in transition." I explained.
Transitioning is the process through which a human, witch, or werewolf transforms into a vampire, when they die with vampire blood in their system. The person then needs to ingest a considerable amount of human blood, at least a sip's worth, within the following twenty-four hours in order to finish the transition; otherwise, they will die.
Just like what Jassy said to me before, siphoners can still do magic after becoming a vampire. If Mikhael decides to live, he won't lose his magic. He will become a heretic.
Napahagulgol si Marcial at niyakap ng mahigpit si Mikhael. Kumalma naman sila Jassy, Kaye at Val.
"Jassy, Olivia, get a blood bag then return to this room. Spell the room after and don't ever come out." utos ni Isaiah.
Mabilis kaming sumunod ni Jassy sa utos niya. After getting blood, we returned to the room and spelled it. Pagbalik namin ay nandito na din sila Jed, Elijah at Cole.
"Do you think a student killed him?" tanong ni Cole.
Mikhael is now lying on the bed, with Marcial sitting on his side. Mahigpit siyang nakahawak sa kamay ng kanyang kapatid.
"Maybe. Or maybe one of the professors did. We don't know until he wakes up." tugon ni Elijah na ngayon ay nakaakbay sa akin.
Pero agad din akong napahiwalay sa kanya nang bigla akong hilain ni Kaylee.
