As the tower fell to the ground I saw the ice user start to panic. I ignored the fuzzy feeling that was running through my body and sent more flames his way. He completely ignored me, immediately taking off towards the tower. At the moment he left my legs gave out and made me fall right back down to the ground. I looked down at my hands and saw that more of my skin had been burned, shit.
I looked up at where the tower was one last time, my vision blurry. The tower was now completely gone. I heard loud banging and saw dust clouds start to take its place. I quickly pulled myself off the ground and headed towards the noises. I had to go help Shigaraki, I had to- I fell back onto the ground, my vision going completely black only a second later.
                 ----------------------------------------
When I came to I was in a hospital room. This is way too familiar for my liking. I slowly sat up and saw Shigaraki asleep in a chair next to me. I reached over and shook him, "Yo, Crusty." I said while attempting to wake him up.
He jumped before realizing it was me, "Oh, Dabi, you're finally awake."
   "Finally?" I asked.
"Yeah, finally. You've been out for a couple days. The doctor said you overheated because of a quirk overuse, it could've done alot more damage than it did. The only thing that it did do was add to your scarring." Shigaraki replied.
I shrugged and leaned back, "Worse has happened, it's not a big deal." I mumbled to myself.
   "Huh?"
"Nothing. What happened anyway? Your hair's white now and you look pretty fucked." I said.
Shigaraki smiled, "Aw, worried about me?"
I scoffed, "Not in the slightest, just curious."
"I beat the Liberation Army's boss, we now have complete control over the entirety of their operation. This can be a big game changer. My hair changed color during the battle though, I'm not too sure why. As soon as the doctor lets you come back to base we've gotta celebrate. The doctor also agreed to give me that power he was talking about and we completed our other task." Shigaraki said, a wide smile on his face.
I laughed, "Yeah? Good, now how long's he keeping me here?"
"He said he'd keep you here until a day after you woke up, so I'm assuming tomorrow."
I sighed, "I hate being in hospitals, gives me bad memories."
"Well, this is something you have to do. Doctor needs to make sure you're completely good to go back into action. We have to start planning our next move since we have a whole army in our clutches now." Shigaraki said.
"I guess, would still rather not though." I replied while rubbing the back of my neck.
"I'll go get the doctor if you want, he can check you over and maybe let you go today." Shigaraki suggested, I quickly accepted and he went off to find the doctor. I looked around this hospital room, an eerie feeling filling my body the whole time. The sooner I'm out of here the better.
Shigaraki and the doctor came back into the room a few minutes later, Shigaraki immediately taking his earlier place next to me. "Good to see you're awake, Dabi." The doctor said as he took a clipboard from the front of the hospital bed.
"Yeah yeah, can you just do your thing so I can get out of here?" I asked, impatient.
"Let me do a quick look at your scarring and do a couple tests, then we'll see if I need to keep you here until tomorrow." The doctor replied, giving me a shitty smile that pissed me off more than any words could explain.
"Whatever." I sighed, letting the doctor do whatever the hell it was he had to do to get me out of here. The entirety of the checkup and testing Shigaraki was at my side. Like, he didn't leave. At all. Even though it took hours.
"So? Does he have to stay here?" Shigaraki asked once the doctor finished everything.
"Surprisingly enough, he's almost completely back to normal. I wasn't expecting that. I just need to give him some new staples on his hands then he'll be good to go." The doctor responded.
"Thank god, I want to go home."
"You consider base to be home?" Shigaraki asked, his eyes slightly shining.
I felt my face flush, "Shit I uh- I meant to say base. Like hell I'd consider that place home." I replied, quickly looking away from him. Shigaraki laughed but didn't press any farther.
"Alright Dabi, this might hurt." The doctor said, taking one of my hands before starting to remove my old staples. I didn't necessarily feel much if we're being honest, it just felt like he was tugging at my skin. Once he finished removing the staples from the hand he had he implanted the new staples at the edge of the new scarring. Now, that part hurt like a bitch.
He quickly finished and implanted all of the new staples into my hand, disinfecting them before moving onto my other hand. When he finished up with my other hand he told me I was allowed to go back to base, I just wasn't allowed to get back into action until my hands were completely healed. He said that my scars would only spread even more if I did, but I didn't necessarily care about them spreading. For some reason, Shigaraki did though.
As we left the hospital Shigaraki turned to me, "We're going back to base to get changed, we have an important meeting the entirety of the league needs to attend." I didn't say anything, I just nodded and followed him back to base. Once we got back and got changed Shigaraki had Kurogiri warp us to some place I didn't recognize. "You guys stay here for now, I'll call you out when it's time for introductions." Shigaraki said before turning to walk out onto the stage in front of us.
I looked around the building, trying to find any sense of familiarity. I didn't. "Where the hell are we?" I asked, turning around to face my fellow league members.
Compress laughed before placing a hand on my shoulder, "Shigaraki didn't tell you? Why Dabi, we're at the Liberation Front's headquarters. Or should I say, our headquarters."
