"Hiroto, come here." I called from downstairs. Seconds later I heard 2 pairs of footsteps rushing down, meaning Hiroshi was coming aswell. Both twins practically ran into me when they reached the bottom of the stairs.
"What is it dad?" Hiroto asked.
"Are you going on a mission?" Hiroshi followed, his eyes shining.
I smiled at them, "I am, I needed Hiroto to come with me for it." I responded, Hiroshi's face dropping.
"I wanna go on the mission too dad! Please? I'll do anything! Please let me come!" Hiroshi begged, grabbing onto my leg.
I crouched down so I was eye level with him and placed a hand on his head, "Papa said that he wanted you to stay here to help him with a couple things he has to do for mission prep. I promise for my next mission I'll bring you and Hiroto can stay with papa, alright? Besides, he needs some help with your little sister." I told him, his eyes regaining their shine.
"Is she finally here?" Hiroto asked.
"Not quite yet, she'll be here soon though. Now go upstairs and help him out, yeah? In return I'll make whatever you want for dinner tonight." I said, Hiroshi wasting no time to rush back upstairs. "Ready to go kid?"
"Lead the way dad." Hiroto responded, grabbing onto my hand.
I pulled on my hood and mask and headed out the door and down the street, heading to the location Tenko gave me. Is it wrong to use your kid to help with crimes? Maybe, but they have fun with it and I always make sure that they never end up getting harmed. I'm not a monster, I always take the extra steps to make sure they'll be ok.
When we got to the location I crouched down and pulled him in close, "Alright, what I need you to do is go over to the guy that's standing over there and try to lead his away from the door. Do whatever you feel is necessary, just get him away from that door, got it? I'll come find you when the job is done." I whispered in his ear, Hiroto's excitement quickly shining through.
A few minutes later he was heading up to the building, striking up a conversation with the guy out front. Not even 2 minutes later Hiroto and the man were walking away from the building. I swear that kid's takes after Tenko a little too much sometimes when it comes to negotiations.
Once completely out of sight I ran into the bulding in search of what Tenko sent me for. I quickly took out the people that attempted to stop me and continued my search, finding a vault minutes later. I started burning the safe, slowly melting the door off in the process.
When the door was completely melted I found a pile of files and a few of valuables inside. I grabbed everything and threw them into the backpack I had with me, making my way to the back exit once I had everything secured. Once the coast was clear I took to a nearby rooftop, checking my phone's tracker to see where Hiroto was.
The second I had his location I took off, finding him sitting alone in a park a few minutes later. His smile grew when he saw me, instantly running over and grabbing my hand. "Did you do it?"
"Of course, who do you think I am kid?" I asked, making Hiroto laugh. "What'd you say to him? That was the fastest I've ever seen you distract someone."
Hiroto laughed again, "It's a secret! Papa taught me a few ways that can help me trick people faster!" Hiroto said with pride.
I sighed, "Of course he did." I replied, ruffling his snow white hair, "You did good kid, I'm proud of you."
"I deserve ice cream." Hiroto said, his eyes peaking up at me.
I laughed, "Yeah, I can do that. I'll get you ice cream then we go get this shit back to papa, yeah?"
Hiroto was quick to agree so I took him to the closest ice cream place. After he got his ice cream we started our walk home, me on my guard the entire time just in case I had to grab Hiroto and bolt. I've had to do it before so I wouldn't be all that surprised if it ended up happening again.
When we got home I went right up to Tenko and I's bedroom, finding him and Hiroshi passed out, Hiroshi curled up in Tenko's arms. I decided to let them sleep for a while, not wanting to disturb them just yet. I went back downstairs and joined Hiroto, watching tv with him for a couple hours until Tenko finally woke up. I only knew that he woke up because Hiroshi came running downstairs to get me.
I grabbed the backpack and went upstairs, telling Hiroshi to stay with Hiroto to decide what they wanted me to cook later. When I got into the room I found Tenko typing away at his computer, looking up only for a brief second. "You got the shit?"
"Of course I did love, you know I'd never fail you." I said, handing him the backpack. I sat down next to him as he dug through the bag and pulled out the files.
"Perfect as always." Tenko replied after looking through everything, leaning over and placing his lips onto mine.
"How're you feeling?" I asked while putting my arm around him.
"Just tired. She's a lot calmer than usual today so I've actually been able to get some decent rest." Tenko replied before placing a hand on top of his abdomen.
"3 more months love, you're almost there."
Tenko was about to say something but was interrupted by the twins rushing into the room and jumping on the bed in front of us. "Dad! Hiroshi and I want karaage." Hiroto said, bouncing in place.
I sighed, "I swear you two have a chicken obsession or something."
"You said I could have whatever I wanted." Hiroshi replied.
"Touché, that I did. Give me a couple more minutes and I'll be down to start cooking, alright?" The twins accepted this and quickly hurried back downstairs, once again leaving Tenko and I alone.
"You know you love them." Tenko said, leaning against my shoulder.
"That I do, even though they're complete brats 99% of the time." I replied, making Tenko laugh.
"They got that shit from you and you know it."
"That they did, my mom said I was a complete nuisance when I wasn't taking care of my siblings." I responded.
"Sounds about right."
"I should probably get downstairs and start dinner before they come barging up here again." I said as I stood up.
Before I could start walking away I felt Tenko grab onto my arm, "Thank you, for giving me the life I've always dreamed of."
I smiled and leaned down to kiss Tenko, my hand resting on his cheek. "You're forgetting how much you've done for me. I'm only still here cause of what you did all those years ago. You somehow keep forgetting that." I took his hand in mine, bringing it to my lips and planting a kiss in the center of his plam. "Thank you, Tenko Shimura. Because of you, my life truly is perfect."
