Paging Dr. Deku

37: Young

Just as they left the elevator to get to their floor, Izuku and Katsuki looked up to see a locksmith walking towards them. 

"Are one of you the one that lives in that place?" the man asked, pointing at Katsuki's front door. 

"That's me." Katsuki responded. 

"Your door's been fixed, so you can change the passcode now and make sure to remember the code this time." the man said and then walked straight into the elevator. 

"Well he seemed pretty helpful." Izuku muttered. 

"Yeah..." 

And~ cue the awkward silence again. 

"I-I need to do some things before I go on my date." 

"Y-Yeah, and I got things to do myself. T-Thanks for the clothes again." 

"Of course, that's what friends are for! A-And thanks again for helping me find something to wear for my date tonight." 

"Yeah, that's what friends are for." he muttered, as he tried not to cringe that he was nothing more than a friend to the greenette. 

He watched her leave his sights as she entered her own place and closed the door behind him. 

'So much for trying to get close to Deku for a day, how the hell did Kei do it?' he thought.

Izuku stood on the other side of her front door and she could tell her heart was still racing after what just happened earlier that day. 

'Geez, why's Kacchan making this so difficult? I managed to pull off some acting when we were in the elevator earlier, but I can't make him try and do something like that again now that I'm dating someone. How did things escalate like this when nothing like this happened when I was dating Shindo? I need Melissa's help, and she's gotta help me in making sure I really distance myself from Kacchan right now.' she thought as she pulled her phone out right away.

"So let me get this straight, after you allowed the man you had sex with to sleep in your room last night after kissing you while drunk, you allowed him to join you in basically having a date today all because he somehow didn't know the passcode to his own place?" Melissa asked. 

"Well when you put it like that, it sounds a lot worse than it is." 

"Izu, I thought you blatantly said you were going to be nothing more than friends!" 

"A-And we are! H-He did help me in finding a dress for tonight, so it's not all that bad." Izuku explained. 

"You really think that's gonna make things better between you two when you've kissed him, had sex with him, he's your neighbor, you're his doctor and you two are just friends?!?! It's clear that he likes you and is trying to change your heart into liking him over Reed! Reed is more suitable for you! Do you remember how many times you've told me that he and Uraraka would break up and then get back together?"

"Of course I won't forget." 

"Then why are you being so nice to him?" Melissa asked as she quickly grabbed the dress from Izuku's hands and held it up to her. 

"This is a sign that you still have some feelings for Katsuki, when you shouldn't!" Melissa stated. 

"What? Why're you saying it's the dress when-" 

"Izu, I know you wouldn't usually pick something of this style. Katsuki picked it for you, didn't he?" Melissa asked.
