^^Acacia

Yeira's POV

Acacia and I sprinted out of the stadium and ran around a crooner. We pressed our backs to the wall as a mob of demons ran past us. Acacia and I peeked our heads out before running in the opposite direction. We stopped once we got a decent distance from the previous spot. Acacia's breathing was heavy and she slid down the wall to rest.

"I'm not like my sister and can whip up a bowl of pasta." I squatted in front of her.

"Not the biggest fan of pasta to be honest. I think it's a heavy dish." She was panting.

"I did manage to swipe this from a stall we passed." I handed her an apple and carrot. "I was told elves love fruits and vegetables.

"This will do. Thanks." Acacia smiled and bit into the carrot. "But, exactly what was your pea sized brain thinking." She narrowed her eyes.

"I was thinking I could bully the demons into giving me what I wanted. Unfortunately, they weren't willing to play submissive." I rolled my eyes.

Acacia rolled her eyes and continued eating. When she was done, she rested her head against the wall and closed her eyes. I sensed that she was exhausted, so I scooted next to her. Acacia peeked at me, so I tapped my shoulder. She hesitantly rested her head against my shoulder. Acacia released a content sigh and closed her eyes. Her breathing slowed until she was asleep. Damn, she must've been really tired to have fallen asleep so quickly.

It felt like a few hours since I've been seated in this position. I haven't moved a muscle in order to make Acacia as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately, I noticed a few demons scouring the place for us. Because of that, I picked up the sleeping elf. I carried her bridal style through different alleyways in the slums. I kept walking until I found a dilapidated house.

I kicked down the door and started the residents. I quickly placed Acacia on the couch before killing the occupants. I disposed of their bodies before carrying Acacia to the bed. I gently placed her down and took a shower. I raided the closet and found an outfit that would best suit me. I decided to sit on the chair and meditate while I waited for Acacia to wake.

"Do you blink?!" I turned to see a wide eyed Acacia. "I was silently watching you and you didn't blink for a few minutes."

"Why you watching me, love?" I smirked, causing her to roll her eyes. "And it's a type of vampiric mediation where we're not required to blink." I stood.

"How and when did we get here?" She looked around the humble home.

"I killed the residents when you were asleep." Her jaw fell slack at my answer. "The bathroom is over there." I smiled and pointed down the hall. "I thoroughly enjoyed the many soaps."

"You're homicidal." Acacia made her way to the bathroom.

I walked around the room and flipped through loose papers. I furrowed my brows and laid the pages on the bed. I rested my hands against the frame as I stared at an ad for a physic. The psychic claimed to be clairvoyant and used tarot cards to unlock hidden meanings. Maybe she could answer the questions I had.

"What's that?" I turned to see Acacia wrapped in a towel.

"The answer to our questions, love." I beamed at her. "And trying to tempt me with your robe, beautiful?" I smirked.

"I would never want your grubby hands on my body." She stepped to me. "Not in a million years." She sneered.

I smirked as Acacia glared at me. Her arms were crossed as she stared down at me. I wanted to back away, but there was something that kept me rooted in place. Acacia must've felt it too since she made no indication of moving. In fact, we both stepped closer to each other. Acacia's face morphed into panic and she squeezed her fists.
