𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐒 quiet as the inside of the van as Thea drove. Both Major and Judith were fast asleep and the radio was busted, so all Thea had to keep her company was her thoughts and the pain in her leg. The fabric of the drivers seat rubbed uncomfortably on her leg where she had to cut the pant leg off. She still had one of her pants legs, which probably made her look funny. But it wasn't like there was anyone around to make fun of her, it wasn't like the walkers were gonna stop trying to eat her for five seconds to laugh at her. . . she'd probably have a heart attack if they did.

A schoolbus came into view and the girl's eyes widened. She knew that bus, it was the escape bus from the prison. The van squealed, coming to an abrupt stop after she slammed her foot on the brake. Immediately she turned off the van and jumped out, leaving Major and Judith inside.

Dead walkers lined up on the road at the back of the bus, some Thea recognised from the prison, but none of them she had really known, only in passing.

Her heart pounded against her chest as she looked over each walker once more to be sure. Her eyes then went to the open back door, taking a shakey breath she boosted herself into the bus. The horrible smell of dead flesh got worse on the inside.

As she walked to the front of the bus she only found one walker, he was dead already and nobody that she knew. She sighed, sliding into one of the seats and putting her head in her hands.

She wasn't sure what she was hoping for. No one she knew was there, but that didn't mean that they weren't dead. She wasn't sure what would be harder, knowing that their dead or the not knowing.

Call her naïve, but she wanted to believe that everyone was okay. . . that she'd find them again. That's why she decided to leave something behind to let them know she was alive. She used the back of the seat in front of her and pushed herself up before limping to the front of the bus.

There was an old crumbled up paper and a marker in the cup holder so she grabbed them both up and sat down in the drivers seat. She clicked her tongue, thinking over what to say.

Once she had the words written down she reached up to her neck and took off her necklace to leave behind with it. After leaving both the paper and necklace somewhere they could be found, Thea went back to the van and started to drive again.

"𝐖𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐎𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐄." Abraham started as he worked on trying to fix the truck. "Coming up a dune there's this camel, looks like it's about to puke. Probably because shitbird's packed about four pounds of C-4 up it's ass. We were within 20 feet of that blast. That sent that animal's hump half a klick into the desert. And we drove home. So you tell me how in the holy hell did you possibly kill this truck?" He asked Eugene as he slid out from underneath the truck.
