𝖨𝗍 𝗐𝖺𝗌 𝖺 𝗊𝗎𝗂𝖾𝗍 𝗇𝗂𝗀𝗁𝗍, Thea oddly enough felt at peace. Daryl and Carol talked quietly in the front seat as Daryl continued to drive, trailing behind the car that took Beth and Sydney.
"So it was just you, Sydney and Beth?" Carol asked, her voice low. Thea lifted her eyes away from the dark night outside the window, listening for Daryl's response.
"Yeah." Daryl replied with one simple word.
"You save them?"
"They're tough. Beth saved herself. . . Syd never needed saving." Daryl shook his head. "We were out there for a while. We got cornered, they got out in front of me and. . . I don't know they were gone. I came out and a car's pulling out with a white cross on the window."
"Just like that one?" Carol asked, nodding ahead.
"Yep." Daryl answered, running over a walker.
Thea licked her lips before deciding to speak, breaking her own silence."The others are gonna wonder were we went." She stated, shifting forward to lean in between Carol and Daryl's seats.
She could only imagine how upset Glenn and Maggie are.
Daryl took his eyes off of the road to glance over at the girl. He pulled his lips into a thin line and looked back at the road before looking down at the gauges. "Tank's runnin' low." He muttered, instead of commenting on Thea's words.
"We can end this quick. Just run him off the road." Carol stated.
Daryl shook his head, immediately shooting down the idea. "Nah, we're good for a bit."
"If they're holding her somewhere, we can get it out if the driver."
"Yeah, but if he don't talk, we're back to square one. Right now we got the advantage. We'll see who they are. If they're a group, see what we can do. And then we'll do what we gotta do to get them back."
"They're heading north." Thea pointed out and Carol nodded.
"I-85."
Thea let out a sigh, leaning her head to the side. "Straight to Atlanta."
A little while later the car in front of them stopped outside a building, Daryl parked a little ways away from the car. "What the hell's he waiting for?" The Dixon man muttered.
The doors on the car opened and two men got out.
Darul narrower his eyes. "There's two of 'em. Is that a cop?"
Thea jumped slightly when a walker banged against her window. It's milky eyes seeming to have a glow effect in the moonlight.
The men start to drive again and Daryl turned the key to start the car, but it was dead. "Aw, shit! Tank's tapped. They'd have to take the bypass and they didn't. They must be holed up in the city somewhere." More walkers started popping up. "We gotta move, find someplave to hole up 'til sunlight."
The two adults tried to think of somewhere they could go, Thea curled her fingers into her palm and let out a sigh.
"I know somewhere we can go." Her words cut through the car. "It's a bit of a walk though."
