MARCH 21st, 1986, it's nearly 10:30 and quite frankly, Allison is pretty tired. Michelle hasn't come home yet, it's a Friday night and their first night off since Winter break so she was probably out at some party. Allison didn't need to worry for her because her dad did let Michelle know there was an extra spare key hidden under a vase out on the porch.

Allison got into bed, reading a book for her English class which kind of got boring, so she closed her book and set it to the side, closing her eyes. She couldn't really sleep. A lot of things were bothering her and the sound of the clock on the wall ticking was pissing her off. "I hate clocks." She mumbled, walking over to take out the batteries before leaving it on her desk. She glanced up and was met by a photo of her and Eddie together.

They're little. Maybe seven or eight, holding hands and swinging together. She remembers that day because her mom was gushing over how cute they were and made them hold hands. She remembers seeing Eddie blush so hard he practically looked like a tomato.

She giggled quietly at the memory then she got quiet as she noticed the photobooth photos above it with them as teens. They're awkwardly posing but also so comfortable with each other. She hadn't noticed the way Eddie's gaze was on her in the last one as she was laughing so hard she started snorting like a pig. It was so embarrassing but Eddie still looked at her that way. She was so stupid.

And naive. She really let herself believe he felt a similar way for him. It still breaks her heart as his voice rang in her ears, "you're so fucking obsessed with me, it's pathetic, Al." She jumps at the sound of frantic knocks at her window, her heart began beating hard as she walks over to the window, opening the curtains.

There Eddie Munson was, panic and fear in his eyes as he felt relief course through him at the sight of his long time friend, Allison Godfrey who now opens up the window after unlocking it. "Ed, what the fuck?" His heart warms at the sound of his nickname as he crawls through. "Oh, man, Al, you will not believe what the fuck I've been through tonight." He's the same chaotic ball of energy Allison always knew as he quickly shut the window and closed the curtains before turning to the short girl.

She opens the light and he took a moment to really take in her image as she stood there, confused why he showed up out of nowhere at her window, freaking out so hard and scaring the absolute crap out of her. Then he lunged towards her, his arms thrown around her smaller frame as she stood there, confused and slightly shaking. It's sort of an awkward hug.

"Wait, no," she shoved him off suddenly and stepped back, holding up her hand to make some distance between them. "Why are you here? Why are you acting like we're still a bunch of best buds? I never want to s--" "please... Please don't say that, Ally." His eyes brim with tears and she took a moment.

"But... why are you here?" She said firmly and he just raised his hands over his face, walking over to the girl's bed where he sat down at the end, shaking and mumbling incoherent words. "Ed, I'm sorry, but I'm very confused. Can you just talk normally?" She said as she sat down at her desk in front of him and he looks up.

"You won't believe me." He murmured and she just failed to maintain eye contact, awkwardly shifting her gaze before she sighed. "Try me, come on. No judgment or doubt... go for it. You came to me for a reason, yeah?" She says and he nods right away. "I--I heard from your dad that you were coming home for Spring break and I--I remembered he said you had the afternoon off from college and that you'd be here and I--I didn't know where else to go other than Reefer Rick's and--" "okay, slow down. Can you begin with telling me what happened?" She asked, cutting his rambling off.

"Um... there was this girl," he's barely explained who this girl was and Allison already feels jealous, she feels stupid, "and her--her name is Chrissy and--and she wanted, um, something and I--I--She--she... she just..." Eddie stopped and Allison squints her eyes.

"She just... what, Ed?" She sounds worried and he looks up into her eyes. "Can I start from the beginning?" He asked and she nods. "Yeah... I--I'm listening very carefully." She explains snd he looks down, taking a deep breath.

Long story short, this girl named Chrissy Cunningham, looking for drugs and how he brought her over to his place to give her a stronger one. Allison clearly showed a disapproving look but Eddie ignored it as he carried on about how she was like in a trance when he got back to her. Then her bones all started snapping and shit before her eyes got sucked inside of her skull.

Allison squints her eyes as she tilts her head to the side a bit. "Ed, have... you also been smoking a bit too much pot?" She whispers and he stood up, sighing loudly as he ran his hands over his face. "I know how it sounds. Trust me. It sounds insane--" "yeah, no shit, Munson..." She says, bemused, looking away.

He grabs her hands and her eyes immediately shot up to his. "But you have to believe me. I wouldn't lie about this." He swears and she just let out a small sigh. "Ed, you can't stay here..." Allison says and Eddie gives her pleading eyes that make her pause and stare.

"Fine, but only for the night." She mumbled and walks over to her closet. "I think dad kept the--" "can I just sleep on your bed? Like old times?" Eddie cut off the girl who immediately glanced over. "Sleep in my bed? You? Me? Like together?" She asked him.

"Yeah." He says, wondering why it made her panic so much. They're adults. And in Eddie's mind, they're still friends because they know each other. "Okay..." Allison says quietly, shutting the closet doors. After, she locks the door which makes Eddie furrow his brows.

"Why'd you lock the door?" He asked and she points. "Do you want my dad or Michelle to find us and murder you?" She asked and she has a point so he nods. "Fair enough." He said and got into her bed, making himself comfortable which made her chuckle softly.

"What?"
