Michael's POV

It's been a week since Luke got in the hospital. I haven't been in my house much cause my mum can't stop getting mad at me. She doesn't understand why I'm so worried about someone I barely know.

I'm currently busy getting ready to visit Luke's mum and go to the hospital again. I put on my flannel, grabbed my small bag that held my phone, wallet and other essentials and went to the front door.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I turned and of course, my mum was there.

"Visiting Luke's mum and going to the hospital."

"Fine."

She never really cared about me or my whereabouts which was finally beneficial to me. I left and made my run to Luke's house.

It didn't take long, 15 minutes at most. I knocked on the door and waited.

I was greeted with Luke's mum, looking down as she has been for the past week.

"Hello, Mikey. Come in and eat something, I just prepared homemade pizza. After you eat, we'll leave.."

"Thank you, Mrs. Hemmings."

I walked in, following her to the kitchen. It smelt wonderful with the scent of fresh Italian seasoning, tomato and just the essentials of pizza.

"It smells amazing!"

I smiled at her, earning a smile back. She looked up at me and gave a confused look.

"New hair color?"

I laughed and fluffed it out.

"Yeah.. I wanted to try green and it turned out to be a bit more pastel than intended.."

"It looks nice.. Here, eat up."

She passed me a plate of 2 slices of pizza, which I happily ate.

"How's your mum, Mikey?"

I sighed and swallowed my last bite of my 1st slice.

"She's.. alright."

"Is everything okay? I always see you walking around at night and everything. You're a little young to be doing that, don't you think?"

"Yeah well.. My parents fight alot and my mum kinda doesn't care for me so I just leave for bit, a few hours at most and head back 3 hours before school starts.. She doesn't get how worried I am about Luke. I dunno, it's just stressful."

I rambled as I ate my 2nd slice.

"Well, Mikey.. Luke is really grateful to have a friend like you. He's been passionate about music since I can remember and having someone like that by his side gives him alot of comfort. You are more than welcome in the Hemmings household."

I finished my food and gave her an appreciative smile as I cleaned up my plate.

"Are you ready to leave?"

Mrs. Hemmings asks as she packs her purse.

"Have been."

She chuckles and leads me out to her car. We both get buckled in and head to the hospital.

With every mile, my heart kept sinking. Something was different about this and I was scared. I was scared that maybe something happened to Luke or whatever.

We parked and it was ritual for me to run in. Once we both got in, said who we were. We were lead to Luke's room.

We both walked in and saw him there with an extra tube in his nose.
