Luke's POV

"Luke, come on!"

I stood infront of the entrance to school with Michael by my side.

"You okay?"

"Yeah.. Just worried.."

He ruffled my hair a bit and I moved away.

"I spent time on this hair, ya know!"

He laughed which I happily shared with him and we walked in.

We went to our lockers that are beside the bathrooms, we heard someone in there clearly throwing up with alot of coughing.

I physically cringed at the sounds and just focused on putting my stuff away, organizing it as I go to distract myself from the sounds. It awfully reminded me of when I'd purge.

The "someone" walked out of the bathroom, It was Mr. Irwin. His face was puffy and his eyes were red.

He looked us, eyes growing wide and it showed how red they were. He just hastily went to the classroom. I looked over at Michael and his mouth was agape.

"So, I guess you were right.. fuck.."

My heart was sinking in my stomach at a rapid pace I couldn't keep up with. Why would he relapse? What happened that was so bad he'd go back to this hell?

We both silently went to our classroom and there was no one else there, we were early again.

Mr. Irwin looked at us and gave us a small smile.

"Would you both want a snack before breakfast?"

Michael nodded, responding for both of us and Mr. Irwin happily gave us 2 protein bars and bags of sweets.

"Are you okay?"

I asked Ashton as Michael went off to our desks. He looked at me and smiled, nodding as an answer.

"I'm okay, just felt ill.."

I looked in his eyes and saw it, the dead look people with eating disorders have. His eyes carrying a dark color with dark eye bags, face practically sunken in already. His smile lines were gone as well. I hummed and went back to my desk that was beside Michael's.

"He just felt ill.."

I told Michael, sitting down and opening the bar.

"Yeah.."

It was weird, it's like we were in denial of someone dying. Mr. Irwin wasn't relapsing at all. He just felt sick like he did yesterday, that's all. He was just ill physically and not mentally.

I tried to convince myself he didn't have a problem, the same way I did in my disorder.

I just couldn't believe how dead he looked already.

Students started arriving, with each person I felt more despair over my heart. Me and Michael knew something that no one else did.

Breakfast was normal except that Ashton didn't eat anything, just sipping on sparkling water again.

The lesson was normal except that Ashton kept having to hold onto his desk to stop the dizziness.

I was watching him slowly die like he did with me and no one else knew.
