Ashton's POV

Another end of a great day. Everyone was beginning to pack up before I got everyone's attention.

"Class! Class! I have an announcement!"

I smiled as everyone was immediately focused on me.

"So the school had decided to let me take you all on a field trip!"

I passed around the permission slips to each student.

"It's a camping trip and you all have a small list on the back of your permission slips. It'll be next week lasting from Wednesday morning to Thursday afternoon!"

The class was booming with excitement, talking to their friends about their clothing options and what they want to do.

"Mr. Irwin?"

A student called and I looked at them.

"Yes?"

"Will we have smores?"

"Well what's a camping trip without smores?!"

My ears were met with loud cheers of excitement, making me smile widely.

"We'll have good food, don't worry about bringing any. I'll get them myself cause I'm such a good teacher."

I spoke with a joking manner, chuckling softly. I looked at Luke and he seemed tense, which broke my heart.

Everyone packed up their stuff and started to leave. Luke was the last one as he stopped at the front of his desk and looked at me.

"Mr. Irwin?"

He softly asked, I looked up from grading everyone's papers and gave him eye contact.

"Yes, Luke?"

"Do.. Do we have to eat the smores and everything..?"

I frowned and shook my head.

"No, you don't have too but you need to pack your meals if you can't eat the food I bring, okay?"

He nodded, his shoulders finally relaxing.

"Thank you.. Have a good day."

His voice spoke timidly as he left the room.

I was so excited for the trip but extremely worried about Luke. I hoped at least he'd pack himself something.

I made a small list of foods to grab for the trip, I pulled it back out from my bag and added some other foods on there that I only hoped Luke would eat.
