Sunoo walks back and forth in front of the tattoo shop his friend, Riki, had recommended to him. The LED signage board above that spells out Star Shaper blinks its light multiple times before it completely dies down. "So much for a 5-star tattoo shop," he murmurs, recalling how Riki boasted this shop to him last week.
("Riki-yah, how sure are you that the shop is safe?" Sunoo asks, not looking up as he continues to scroll down at the Instagram account Riki told him to check.
Sunoo is particularly interested in one of the tattoo artists. His black ink work? Flawless. Perfect. He's made flowers and butterflies nearly as beautiful as their natural counterparts, made dragons and snakes you could feel its scales in your skin. His work is of high quality, and that's exactly what Sunoo needs. He has to be the one who will ink Sunoo's tattoo.
He hears Riki snort before answering him. "I'd rate it a 5 out of 5 stars, hyung. Go for it.")
With one final sigh, he pushes the door open.
White walls, white ceilings, minimalist interior. Is he sure this is the same store he was staring at earlier? As he enters the store completely, he is greeted by one of the staff by his side. "Good afternoon, I'm Jake. Walk-in or appointment?" Sunoo guesses that this person-Jake, might be the receptionist, seeing that he is just situated behind the desk. As if reading Sunoo's mind, he speaks again. "I'm a piercer but since today's clients are all for the tattoos, I'm tasked here at the counter."
Slightly embarrassed, he replies. "Ah, right. Sorry." Jake murmurs a soft it's fine before heading back to what he's doing. From here, he can hear the constant buzz of tattoo guns coming from the rooms ahead, and instead of feeling fear and tension, his blood is pumping with excitement. "An appointment with Jay-ssi." he notices Jake lifting his brows in a pleased manner before chuckling. Out of curiosity, Sunoo asks. "Why?"
Jake shakes his head with a smile on his face. "Oh. nothing. You have to wait here though, he currently has another client inside. I'll go and inform him you're here." he rolls up his sleeves and Sunoo finally sees some of Jake's tattoos on his left arm. Before he could finally walk away from the desk, he looks back at Sunoo. "Oops, I don't think I caught your name."
"Sunoo."
Jake clicks his tongue and raises his hand, showing an 'OK' sign. "Cool, got it. Just relax there for a while."
Silently, he sits down at the couch in front of the desk where Jake was earlier, his eyes following the latter. He sees him knocking at one of the doors and hears him let out an exaggerated huff, seemingly waiting for the buzzing sound to stop inside before opening the door slightly. "You have another client out here. Appointment!"
"I know. I'm just cleaning up here." he hears from the other side of that room-voice tired and vexed before the words start becoming incoherent. "Make him sign the waiver first,"
Waivers are signed, and maybe five minutes passed before the client who came before him finally exits the room, alongside Jay. Sure, Jay already looked good on Instagram, in the shots where he's leaning over clients' bodies, studying their skin and leaving marks on them with care. But in person he's absolutely ethereal. Sunoo feels his nerves spike, and he isn't sure if it's the adrenaline rush of finally getting his dream tattoo, or if it's because this very good-looking guy is going to be up close and personal with his body.
With a clipped smile, Jay points at the door using his thumb. "Station's clean and prepped for you, come inside."
The room, or should he say the station, is bright with all the lights and the huge headlamp near the fold-out chair. The walls are painted black with random graffitis everywhere making it colorful. There is also a big mirror near the chair, and the metal desk is full of equipment and tools. Neatly organized, too. A trash bin is placed beside the desk, and the sink is clean too. This guy sure knows how to handle his own station.
