Her heart raced and she could hardly believe her own eyes. His dark blue eyes were staring widely at hers and she couldn't help but notice how much taller he'd grown, and how his hair had grown longer. "Raysa?" he asked, his voice deeper and huskier than she remembered. "Alex..." she said breathlessly, but she realized that she was being too close, she backed away. Her guilt of leaving him crept up to her. "So, how've you been?" she asked.
"Fine, you?" Alex asked while he noticed how beautiful his chidhood friend became. Well, Alex has always thought she was cute, but now... Raysa was petite and strikingly pretty, and this girl was once the child that daringly kissed him the day before she left six years ago. He blushed, remembering the thought.
"Good, I've been good... do you still play the guitar?" she asked, trying hard to keep the conversation flowing. She felt happy that he remembered her, but she aslo felt surprisingly intimidated by how handsome and hot Alex has become. She couldn't help not to stare at his ravishing face. I mean to Raysa, Alex as a young boy had always looked adorably cute, but now... it's not just cuteness anymore.
"Yeah, sometimes," Alex said looking away.
"Sometimes? Don't tell me you've grown tired of it!?" Raysa said, shocked by his answer. "How often do you still play?"
Alex frowned at her and he asked, "Do you still sing in the bathroom?" he demanded and was quite pleased by her answering blush, "No," she denied.
"Still the same I see," Alex said with an answering grin that made Raysa's heart stop. "So, when did you get back?"
"We got back yesterday... I didn't know if calling you was okay with you...and I was afraid of visiting," Raysa admitted.
"Why would you be afraid?"
"Because!" She looked at him in the eye, "We haven't seen or heard from each other for six years! I didn't know if you still remembered me or not."
Alex' brows furrowed, "You're not being fair."
"What?"
"That's exactly what's been bothering me for years. You never mailed me your address or your phone number, not just that you never tried to contact me! I received no information about you since you left. Why didn't you write to me? Or call me? You had my address, my landline, but you didn't."
"I wrote to you!" she cried.
"No you di---" Alex said, but he stopped and decided to drop the subject when he saw his Raysa couldn't speak as she held back her tears. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards a guy playing music for money. He paid the guy five dollars to shut up and lend him the guitar. He only let go of Raysa's hand when he was handed with the guitar.
Alex started with a nostalgic plucking pattern that Raysa knew all too well. She took a deep breath and sang quietly the lyrics of their song. When it reached the chorus, she was singing softly but with the appropriate volume to be heard.
Alex' lips curled up into a smile as they sang. Hearing Raysa's voice, clear expressive and beautiful, felt so wonderfully peaceful to his ears.
When the song ended, just like before, people were gathered and were clapping in amazement for their performance. Raysa gave Alex a small smile, while he answered her with a cocky grin as he raised a hand and she high-fived it.
"Shit! I forgot! Ray---" Raysa stopped. For an instant she saw pain in Alex' expression but it was quickly replaced by a blank look. "I promised Ray that I'd go back early and help with unpacking our..." she couldn't continue. She didn't wanne leave Alex yet, actually, she never want to leave him again.
