“When will it be ready?” Alex groaned. With his face on the table and his arms scattered on each side, he looked pitiful waiting for lunch.

“Almost,” Raysa called out. Her hair was clipped to prevent it from getting in her face. An apron was tied to her waist, Alex actually took a photo of her secretly while she was cooking and looking like that. He was looking at it in his phone while she fixed them both lunch. But she was taking too long and Alex’ stomach was already complaining.

“I’m dying…” Alex said to himself.

“Okay, it’s ready,” she called.

“Finally,” he said. He lifted his head and saw her enter the dining room carrying… lasagna.

“Wait… you took that long to make lasagna?” he asked raising a brow. She blushed and looked really embarrassed… “I umm, had some trouble…”

“What trouble?” he asked. He rose and leaned to the side to peek at the kitchen. Raysa quickly blocked his view, but he already saw it. “What did you do to the kitchen?”

She looked very uncomfortable and very embarrassed while Alex waited patiently for her reply to his question. He thought she looked cute blushing and playing with her hands as she decided what to tell him. Alex was smiling internally, but he kept his face blank. He tilted his head to the side, a gesture he noticed Raysa often did whenever her curiosity showed in her face. He changed his question, “Who cooks at your house?”

“It used to be our helper Sara… but mom and dad decided that me and Ray didn’t know how to do anything in the house so…”

“That doesn’t really answer my question.”

“I cook during Fridays,” she said helplessly.

“Only? Who cooks for the rest of the week?”

“R-Ray…”

“Pffft…” Alex covered his mouth with his hand as he struggled not to laugh at the information he had just received. He couldn’t even imagine Raymond Faye in an apron. Oh he wished the apron had girly prints on it, because that would be very lovely.

“I-I’ll clean up the mess after we eat,” she stuttered. She hesitantly put the food on the table, conscious of Alex’ unwavering gaze and unaware of what he had in his mysterious head. She nervously sat down and gave him a smile that came out forced and unnatural. It actually made Alex want to tease her even more.

She took some lasagna and put it on her plate, then watched as Alex did the same. He was aware of her watchful and nervous eyes that were waiting for him to taste the food she made by messing up his kitchen. He also knew that she was holding her breath. He smiled with amusement as he looked down at his plate. The food looked edible and decent enough to eat. He lifted his fork, and used it to get a piece. He lifted it very slowly and opened his mouth lazily. He peeked at her and saw her anxiously waiting for him to take a bite. Just when it was inches from his lips… he quickly put it down, took his empty glass, and stood up. “I’m gonna get some water,” he said with a teasing grin. His handsome face alight with amusement.

Raysa exhaled and glared at him. She knew he was prolonging the moment she was waiting for. She frowned at his retreating back, annoyed at how he enjoyed teasing her so much. She absently twirled her hair with her index as she waited for him to return. Her mind once again drifted to the paint bomb planted in her locker, and the talent show they weren’t ready for. She couldn’t think of any specific suspects that could have done that, but she knew the one who put the bomb in her locker was a girl. Alex had numerous fans and haters. She just hoped Hana and Steve had by now gotten some information about it.
