"Where is she?" Hana asked continuous dialing Raysa's number and waiting for her to answer.
"I found it!"
"You found her!?" Hana exclaimed running towards Kayla.
"No, I found her phone," Kayla said. "This isn't like her. She's hardly late for anything. Didn't she say she was going to practice?"
"Yes, she did. But she didn't say where she was practicing," Hana said ruefully. The talent show had already started. The girls have been searching high and low for Raysa and so far they haven't had any luck in finding her.
"Still haven't found her?" Hana asked as a panting Naomi approached them. She shook her head in response. "I've the my level's floor. She's not there..."
"Do you think something happened to her?" Ryan asked appearing next to the group.
"Of course something happened to her!" Kayla said hitting her boyfriend, "She's not the type to back out and she wouldn't miss this for the world."
"Knowing Raysa, anything could've happened," Hana said clutching her phone tightly. "I swear if I find out that she just fell asleep, I will murder her."
"I'll help you," Kayla said with a grim smile as they separated again to search for the missing girl.
If only they thought about looking in the old abandoned building...
Meanwhile, our heroine remained locked in a room...banging her head against the hard door.
She groaned as she slammed her hands against the wood and sank to the floor. "If only God gave me the power to teleport," she grumbled, hitting the door with one futile punch.
She felt tired. She had been trying and trying and trying to get out of the room. She even tried the window which terrified her greatly.
Closing her eyes for just a second, she told herself to rest, even if it's just for a little while...
Her mind drifted into a bright peaceful place. A place that had always been a frequent setting to her dreams. "I wonder why my mom and dad never spend time together..." young Alex had said as he rested on the soft green grass and relaxed under the cool shade of their favorite tree.
"Maybe they don't like each other," Raysa said laying next to him and bringing her had close to touch the side of his.
"Then why did they marry?" he had asked her.
"I dunno," she said.
"But it would make sense," Alex said reasonably, "They don't like me, and they don't spend time with me either."
"I like you," Raysa said leaning up on her elbows and looking at him like an angel sent from heaven to warm his heart.
"Yeah, that explains why you spend so much time with me," chuckled Alex his ash blonde hair messy and adorable, but not as adorable as his devilish grin. "Why do you like me?"
She grinned, "Because you're strange."
His brows furrowed. "What kind of answer is that?"
She giggled, "What did you want me to say?"
"I don't know," he shrugged, "Maybe because I'm awesome?"
"I'm more awesome than you are," she said.
"Nu-uh," he said. "And how can you say that?" he demanded.
"It's 'cause I'm a girl," she said. "And girls are better than boys."
