Alex climbed over the school walls effortlessly even with his headache. He ran towards the school building and made his way easily to the principal’s office with Ryan barely on his tail.
There he found his princess coolly looking at the floor with a satisfied smile on her angelic face as she sat at the chair by the principal’s door.
As if she sensed his arrival, she turned her head and beamed a smile at his confused expression. “Hi Alex,” she greeted.
“Don’t hi me,” he said tiredly. His headache felt worse.
“Then… should I use ‘hello’ instead,” she asked.
He frowned at her.
“What?” she asked innocently.
“Why are you here?” Alex demanded.
“Why are you here?” she countered sweetly.
“Ryan was told by his girlfriend, and he told me,” he said. “Now answer my question,” he ordered firmly.
Raysa stared into his serious blue eyes and sighed with a pout. “I got into a fight.”
Alex sat beside her but never took his eyes off of her. “Isn’t that my job?” he said.
She just continued to pout.
“So what happened?” he asked as he started rubbing his temples and closing his eyes.
“There was another paint bomb in my locker. It ruined the lyrics I wrote, so I marched into the culprit’s classroom.”
Alex blinked. “You did what? Alone?”
She looked at him with confidence in her judgement, “I’m not a coward who only charges when I have friends around. I don’t wanna be like Sheela.”
Alex smiled but then his brows furrowed, “Who’s Sheela?”
“The one who’s been putting gifts in my locker,” she said casually. Then lowered her head and peeked at the corner of her eye as she nonchalantly asked, “Did you date her?”
“Maybe?”
Her head snapped at him and she stared at him in shock and disapproval which made Alex laugh. “I was kidding. I don’t remember ever dating a girl named Sheela,” he reassured her. But she didn’t look convinced. “You don’t remember half the names of the girls you dated. How can you be sure?” she said.
“Not remembering their names is already proof enough that they never meant anything to me,” he grinned and ruffled her already messy hair that he found strangely cute and attractive.
“So how’d the fight go?” he asked.
“Um…” she pursed her lips and blushed.
“What?” he asked.
“Well…”
“But sir! She bit me!” a voice exclaimed from inside the office.
Alex raised a brow at his angelic girlfriend. “You bit her?” he said in disbelief.
She blushed even more and shrugged. “I guess.”
“Why didn’t you just punch her or something?” he suggested.
“Oh, don’t worry, I did that too,” she assured him cheerily.
Just the fact that she seemed happy about that made him chuckle. So worried was he that he raced to her rescue, when he actually didn’t need to. Sitting beside him with that optimistic air around her, she seemed to affect his dark mood with just her mere presence. She was staring at him with those innocent light blue eyes. Her expression was bright and cheerful despite the fact that she had just come from a fight and was waiting to be scolded by the principal. Not to mention that she was definitely outnumbered in that fight since she certainly came alone.
