Alex sat on his computer chair playing his red guitar. He was humming softly as he played. His blonde hair slightly messed as if he ran his hand through it, his deep blue eyes silently looking into space as he hummed. The white gold earring twinkled from time to time whenever it caught some light. His music was only disturbed when he heard rustling noises from his shelves. He glanced at the girl digging through some of his stuff that were once organized and now in total chaos. “Tell me again what you are doing there?”

“Just looking through your things…” she answered.

“That’s not looking, you’re messing them up.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll clean it all up after I’m done,” she said. Raysa was sitting on the floor and looking through his CDs. She was checking for songs that they can use for the talent show. She received a text from Hana saying that it was three weeks from now. She sighed when she couldn’t make up her mind. As she scanned over the piles of CDs, something caught her attention. There was this one case that was blank white and it seemed older than the rest. She took it and opened it, there was a date written on it… and it was back when she was seven…

She glanced at Alex who was still lost in his music then she quietly placed it in the player. She pressed the play button and the sound of rustling leaves were heard. She glanced at Alex again, he stopped playing the guitar and his eyes were wide when he heard what was playing. She just stared at him when the voices started to be heard. “You know, I wish we didn’t have to attend school…”  a little boy’s voice complained. “I’d have more time playing my guitar and hanging out with you if we didn’t have school…”

“But if there we didn’t have school, then we wouldn’t have meet,” said a girl’s voice which Raysa recognized as her own.

“Mmm… *sigh* you’re right… I wouldn’t want that…”

There was a long pause of silence and the only sound to be heard was the slight strumming of a guitar. “Hey…When we grow up… do you think we’ll become boring like the other grown-ups?”

“I don’t know, but I hope not. I don’t wanna work all day without any time to play with you.”

“Me too. My parents only come home at night and leave first thing in the morning… They even said that one of them will be starting work in a different country next year. The other, whom I think is mom, will leave the year after that too… Sometimes I wonder why they even bothered to have me…”

Alex stood up, he wanted to stop the damn thing. He forgot it still existed. Those were records of their conversations back when they were kids. He’d often leave the recorder running for his guitar playing, but he sometimes takes breaks and forgets to turn it off. Helen used to put the records in CDs.

Raysa looked at him, “I wanna hear the rest…” she pleaded. He frowned and angrily sighed before stomping back to his seat and grumpily opening his laptop.

“Hey, have you ever wondered where babies come from?” Raysa giggled at little Alex’ question, and the current Alex grumbled, “If you’re just gonna laugh then turn it off.”

Raysa shut her mouth but there was still a wide smile on her face.

“I asked Rayray about that and he looked at me with a funny face. He told me to ask mom and dad but I told him I already did and they didn’t give me an answer…”

“So he put his hand on my head and told me why mom and dad wouldn’t tell me…”

“What did he say? My parents can hardly be talked to, and Helen only tells me ‘I’ll tell you when you’re older…’ Come on! I’m already seven, how old do they want me to be before someone properly explains…”
