"Are you dating Alex?" the blonde from earlier demanded once the class was over. Her friends were right behind her, glaring at me. Raysa really did see this coming though... she sighed and looked at the girl, "No, I'm not dating Alex," she answered calmly.
"Good," she said, "So, what are you to him?"
"They're childhood friends Anna," Hana said, she emphasized her name for me to get that she was one of Alex' first girls.
"Childhood friends huh?" she said haughtily. Raysa bit her lip from saying inappropriate language at the girl. "Alex never mentioned anyone like a childhood friend," she said.
"Well, does he ever mention anything to you?" Raysa countered as she stood up and grabbed her back. The blonde was provoked, "Who do you think you are newgirl?!" she hissed.
Raysa rolled her eyes at her and jerked her chin at the door for Hana to go ahead of her. The blonde glared furiously at Raysa who was getting tired of all the girls being a bitch at her.
"Look woman," Raysa said, "I don't know what your relationship was with Alex, but picking a fight with me ain't a bright idea, and it won't solve your problems with Alex. So, back. off." With that she turned her back on the speechless group and scanned for Alex. "They absolutely know nothing about him!" she grumbled.
The bell rang and Alex lazily dragged his feet to Raysa's classroom. He had managed to escape Ryan and Kayla. He smiled proudly at himself for cleverly ditching them, because if he didn't, Ryan would've punched him to knock him out and sent him to the clinic.
He spotted her leaning her back against the wall as other students got out of the room. She was pouting, her brows were furrowed as she stared intently at the ground.
When he approached her, she looked at him and her entire face lit up. He simled warmly at her, then he began to lead her to her next class. "What were you thinking about?" he asked.
"I some stuff about you..." she admitted.
Alex tensed but kept his face expressionless. He looked at her and waited for her thoughts about what she heard. To his surprise, she just smiled bitterly, "What?" he asked.
"They know nothing about you!" she exploded.
Alex raised an eyebrow, "And you think you do?"
She nodded seriously, "Yes I know you better! Better than they do! All they know is your reputation and behavior, but no one gave me the reasons to why you acted so differently from when I haven't left."
"I thought you've changed, but no. Well, somehow yes, if you're talking about behavior, but deep inside I know you're still the same," she said to herself. "You're still the same Alex I knew and lo---"
She stopped as slowly, her face blushed at the realization of what she was about to say. They weren't kids anymore, saying those special three words had a whole different meaning now... though saying it to Ray was no big deal, telling Alex seemed to have made her lose her voice.
Alex knew what she was gonna say, and he saw the flush of her cheeks as she suddenly cut herself off. He was very disappointed she didn't continue, very disappointed. But despite his sick condition, he felt pretty good to hear an almost confession from Raysa. Plenty of girls have told him they loved him, and it disgusted him how they can claim to feel that way about him. He knew, that all they loved was his reputation and his image.
They reached her classroom without a word, and that annoyed Alex since he didn't really know how he should make the conversation flowing again. Before he left, he told Raysa, "I won't pick you up after classes." And with that he left without glancing back at her.
