We finally got to the hospital. The baby was still in my arms sleeping. We walked through the doors. A nurse came up to us and saw the baby in our arms. "Oh my god what happened." she asked. " We don't know we found him in an ally way." Mave said " Ok lets get him checked on" she said. She started to grab him from me and he woke up. He started screaming at the top of his lungs. "No leave me!!" He yelled The nuse let him go startled and he snuggled back into my arms. "Sh Sh sh your ok" I said calming him down. He stoped screaming. A doctor came up to us. "What is going on?" he asked. "They came in with a baby he is beaten up to I was going to take him when he woke up screaming." The nuse explained " Ok" He said looking at me. " How about we check on him. Do you mind coming with miss" He asked. " No thats fine." I said. He took us to a emty room. " My name is Doctor Thomas." He said shaking my hand. "Esme" I said. " Ok Esme can you tell me exacty what happened and were you found him" He said sitting down. " Ya me and my girlfriend were walking home from a park and I heard him crying. We went to check who it was and saw him in an ally." I explained. "Ok" He said grabbing something. "Hey little guy can you show me your face" He asked. The little guy shook his head no "scary" He whispered. " He's not scary he just wants to make sure your ok. Can you please show him your face?" I whispeard in his ear. He nodded and lifted his head. He looked at his face then went to touch his arm but pulled back. "No No" He said pointing at him. I couln't help but chuckle a little. "I'm sorry. Little guy." He said. "No little guy me Luca" He said. "Luca..Your name is Luca?" He asked. "Ya" Luca said. Well at least we know his name. "Ok Luca can I check your ams to see if you are ok?" Dr. Thomas asked. Luca slowly nodded his head. Dr.Thomas was done with his check up 30  minutes later.  We had to negotiate with Luca to weigh him. He would not let go of me the entire time,but I told him I would get him a toy if he did it which he gladly exepted. Mave, Chris, and Cat came into the room. Luca instantly hid back into my neck when he saw them. " Hello my love" Mave said kissing me. "Hey" I said to her. I asked the doctor to bring then in when he was done so they could be here when he tells us whats wrong. "Hey little guy how are you?" Chris asked. "No little guy me Luca" Luca said glaring at Chris. I couldn't help but chuckle at him. " Ok I'm sorry" Chris said. "No talk to strangers" Luca wispered. "Oh Luca there not strangers. That is Chris and Cat his soon to be wife." I said and Luca looked up. "Kitty" He said pointing at cat. "Ya I'm Kitty" She said. Luca then looked over at Mave. "Who that" He said pointing at Mave. "That is Mave she is my girlfriend" I said and Mave waved at him. "Girlfriend" Luca said tilting his head. "You my girlfriend" Luca said pointing at me. "No thats-" I started to say. "Yes you are you a girl and my friend" Luca said snuggling into me. " Ok" I said hugging him. Just then Dr.Thomas and a police officer came in. "Ok guys this is officer Myers" Dr.Thomas said. " So we got all the results back from the x-ray and everything."Thomas explained. "It seems that besides the bruises and him being underweight. He is completely fine." He said and I relieased a breath I didn't even know I was holding. "What about his parents?" Mave asked. I was wondering about the same thing. " We are looking for then now." Officer Myers said. "What will happen to him now" I asked. "Well we will find a place for him to stay." He said. "Does he have other family?" Chris asked. "Not that we are aware of." Myers said. "Can he stay with us?" Mave asked. I was shocked she asked. I mean I want him to stay with us I just didn't expect her to say that. "I will have to call my boss but I don't see why not"Officer Myers said and left the room. "Well once he gets back and if you are allowed to take him." Dr.Thomas said. "If you need I have a carseat here if you need it" Dr.Thomas said. "Thank you, we will let you know" I said and he nodded. "Chris and I are going to get a drink. Do you want anything?" Cat asked. "No, I think we will be ok. Do you want anything Luca?" I asked. Luca just shrugged his shoulders. "How about you come with us and we can look together?" Cat asked. Luca nodded his head then looked at me. "Don't worry I will be here when you come back ok?" I said and he nodded. "Ok come on little man" Chris said, holding out his hands. Luca was hesitant at first but then went to him. Which left me and Mave alone "I'm sorry I shouldn't have-" I cut her off by kissing her. "It's ok babe" I said looking at her. " I just saw the way you two looked at each other and I couldn't help myself" She said. "Ok but what about you because I don't want you doing this just because I wanted to" I said. I feel bad that she is only wanting to do this because of me. "I want to do this, I mean It's hard to explain...My parents, as you know, never really cared about me, So when I saw him my heart just broke. I want him to be safe and loved and I think we can do that for him." Mave said. I couldn't help but smile at her. "So we're doing this?" I ask her. "Ya were doing this well if we are allowed" She said and I chuckled a little. Just then Luca came back in Cat's arms with Chris following.
