I grabbed my trunk and headed downstairs.

I wore a black cashmere sweater with my slytherin robe.

"Let's go honey, mustn't be late." My mom hurried as my father grabbed my hand.

We apparated and we stood in front of the train.

"Be good, sweetie. Good luck on the quidditch team." My father gives me kiss on the forehead as he gives me a hug.

"Behave. and try your best." My mom said as she fixes my hair and my robe.
She gives me a kiss on the cheek and hugs me.

"Bye mum. Bye dad." I say happily as I take o/n's cage and walk into the train.
I wave goodbye to them through the window as they disapparate.

I move through the train as I try to find a good compartment to sit in.

Eventually I find one and settle myself in there.
As the time goes by, more and more people come in.

There were so many as they made their way through the train.

The train began to move and everybody waved goodbye to their loved ones.

We left platfrom 9 3/4 and we were on the way to Hogwarts.

Not long into the train ride, Draco popped up with his friends.

He opened the compartment door.

"Hey y/n. Mind if we sit in here?" Draco asked.

"Not at all." I answer as Crabbe and Goyle follow in behind him.

.           Herbology Class            .

"Did you hear about Potter and Weasley?" I ask in a whisper to Draco and the gang.

They shook their heads.

"Well, Weasley drove his dad's flying car to Hogwarts and crashed it in the Whomping Willow. But, a couple of Muggles saw the flying car and it was in the muggle paper." I gossiped.

"Woah. Did they get expel?" Crabbe asked.

"Yeah, there's just two boys that look exactly like them here in class." I sarcastically say as we all turn to look at them.

"They only got detention." I sadly say.

"Good morning, everyone." Prof. Sprout greeted.

"Good morning, Prof. Sprout." We all greeted and we switched our attention to her.

"Welcome to Greenhouse Three, second years. Gather around, everyone."

We all took a step forward towards the plants in front of us.

"Today we're going to repot Mandrakes." She says as she picks up a pot and turns back around.

"Who here can tell me the properties of the Mandrake root?" Prof. Sprout asked.

Granger hand shot up.

I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, Miss Granger?"

She took a deep breath.
"Mandrake or Mandragora is used to return those who have been Petrified to their original state. It's also quite dangerous. The Mandrake's cry is fatal to anyone who hears it." Granger informed.

"Excellent. 10 points to Gryffindor." Prof. Sprout awarded.

"Know it all." I scolded in a low voice.

"L/N. I do hope we're not insulting our fellow classmates." Prof. Sprout pointed out.
"No, Prof. Sprout." I sighed.
"Good."

I saw Draco glare at Potter and Weasley who were happy they were awarded house points and my guess, that I was caught insulting Granger.

"As our Mandrakes are still only seedlings their cries won't kill you yet. But they could knock you out for several hours, which is why I have given each of you a pair earmuffs for auditory protection."

I grab my earmuffs and examine them.
They were nice earmuffs, they were black and had a lot of fur.

"Could you please put them on, right away? Quickly."

We all did what we were told.

"Flaps tight down and watch me closely. You grasp your Mandrake firmly. You pull it sharply up out of the pot."

The cries of the Mandrake was so loud and torturing. I had to push the earmuffs closer to my ears so I couldn't hear it.
The Mandrake looked funny as I looked at it more.

"Got it, now you dunk it down into the other pot and pour a little sprinkling of soil to keep him warm." Prof. Sprout instructed.

Seemed easy.
All of a sudden, Longbottom falls.

We all turn to see.

Prof. Sprout sighs and says "Longbottom's been neglecting his earmuffs."

I smile as I found that funny.

"No ma'am, he's just fainted." Seamus Finnigan assured the Prof.

"Yes, well, just leave him there." Prof. Sprout concluded to the situation.

"Right, on we go. Plenty of pots to go around."

I take ahold of the Mandrake in front of me.

"Grasp your Mandrake and pull it straight up!" Prof. Sprout instructed.

The cries of so many mandrakes took over.

I winced at the sound but got used to it.

The Mandrake was funny.
It was like a newborn plant baby.

I tickled its stomach and nothing happened.
I looked over at Draco and he put his finger inside the Mandrake's mouth.

It bit down and Draco was struggling to get it out.
He finally did and wiped off the saliva on his coat.

I let out a laugh and he glared at me.

We put our Mandrake's down and sprinkled some soil on it.

By then, class was over.

The earmuffs were so nice. I wanted to keep them.
I hid them inside my coat and hurried to leave.

"Miss. L/N aren't you forgetting something?" Prof. Sprout called without even turning around.

"What are you talking about, Prof. Sprout?" I played dumb.

"Leave the earmuffs, Miss L/N." Prof. Sprout demanded as she turned to look at me.

I sighed and took them out of my coat.

I placed them down on the table as I apologized.

"It's alright, but I will be taking 5 points away from Slytherin." Prof. Sprout informed.

I nodded and left Herbology.
