Year 3: Betrayal

Sometime later....

I was reading in my dormitory when Olivia walked in with a boy.
She was giggling and the boy was whispering in her ear.

I closed the book as I wasn't even focusing on my reading anymore.

"Oh, sorry y/n. Are we bothering you?" Olivia asked as the boy put his hand around her.

"No, it's alright. I'll just go and read in the common room."
I answer her with a smile.

I grab my book and headed out into the common room.

I position myself into a comfortable position on the couch and open my book.

Not long after, the slytherins rushed into the common room, cheering.

They were celebrating the win against Ravenclaw.
As much as I wanted to stay and celebrate with them, I really wanted to finish the book.
I take my book and get up from the couch.

I head out to the courtyard but realized it's no use since there's so many students there already.

I continued walking through the school grounds.
I went down towards Hagrid's Hut, but I found a perfect place before I got there.

It was next to a thick tree and it had a beautiful overlook of the lake.
I turn towards there and walk over to it.

I was only 10 feet away from the spot when the tree began to move.

I kept walking, not thinking much of it.

All of a sudden, it's branch tries to knock me down.
I duck just in time.

I realized it's the Whomping Willow.
What can I do so she could stop?
I jump over another branch Willow tried to knock me down with.

I'm just gonna talk to her.

"I'm not gonna hurt you! I just need a space to read." I called out to her.

She suddenly stopped, she repositioned herself, upwards.
I let my breathing come down to a minimum.
"Whomping Willow. Or should I just call you, Willow?"
Her branches creaked.
"Willow it is." I chuckle.
"I'm Y/N." I say as I put my hand out.

Is this a way to greet trees?

It seems like she hesitated about grabbing it with her branch.

The creaking of the wood took over the silence and she placed her branch on my hand.
"It's nice to meet you." I chuckle.
I gave it a squeeze and she pulled it away as she transitioned herself back into a normal tree.

I sat down on the grass as I admired the beautiful over look of the lake.
The sun was up in the sky.
It was so pretty.

I opened my book as that's what I came here to do.

Finished the book...

"That's it?!" I exclaimed as I read the last word.

"Mia took Ryan back and then what?! Ugh! They better do another part to this." I say as I throw my hands to my face.

I heard Willow's branch creaking and I felt a nudge on my back.
