Song ~ Afraid by The Neighbourhood
I'm so bored. I was lying on my back on the end of Appa's saddle. I'd been with Aang and the others for a day now and nothing had happened I thought this would be more exciting, more fun.
"Those clouds look so soft." Katara says dreamily lying on her stomach, popped up on her elbows.
I sit-up to look at them and they were beautiful. I'd always been Mesmerised by cloudes my mother used to tell me every cloud has a story.
"They're beautiful." I say in awe.
"Right, like you could just jump down and you'd land in a big, soft, cottony heap?" Katara sang.
Sokka turned to katara mockingly with a smile. "Maybe you should give it a try."
"You're hilarious." Katara says meekly.
"I'll try it!" Aang says exited carrying his staff, he jumps off Appa with a big smile on his face.
"Aang wait your gonna get..." but it was too late. "Soaked." I say.
I look over the saddle to see where he went. "He dose know clouds are made out of water right?" I ask.
We herd a thud from behind us and low and behold it was Aang. "Turns out, clouds are made of water." Aang giggled.
"Hey, what is that?" Katara asked looking over Sokka's shoulder. Sokka looked in the direction his sister was looking at.
"It's like a scar .." He whispered in shock.
"let's go check it out" Katara say. Finally something to do.
We land Appa and our surroundings are so eerie. "Listen. It's so quiet. There's no life anywhere." Sokka states.
"Aang? Are you okay?" Katara asked looking over at Aang concerned.
"Fire Nation! Those evil savages make me sick! They have no respect for -" did he really think we where all like this.
"Shhh!"
"What? I'm not allowed to be angry?" Sokka voiced. Katara points to Aang.
Aang fell to his knees. "Why would anyone do this? How could I let this happen?" Aang said. Aang was just a kid and he has the weight of the whole world on his shoulders.
"Aang, you didn't let this happen. It has nothing to do with you." Katara reassured him.
"Yes, it does. It's the Avatar's job to protect nature. But I don't know how to do my job." Aang said sadly.
"That's why we're going to the North Pole." Katara Smiles softly. "To find you a teacher
"Yeah. A waterbending teacher. But there's no one who can teach me how to be the Avatar. Monk Gyatso said that Avatar Roku would help me." Aang said still not satisfied.
"The Avatar before you? He died over a hundred years ago. how are you supposed to talk to him?" Sokka ask confused.
"I don't know." Momo came up to Aang's lap.
I start walking over to console Aang and just then I feel something underneath my feet an acorn. "Hey Katara" I whisperer.
"yeah?" She asks.
"look there's acorns everywhere so the forest will grow back." I whisper happily.
"I have to tell Aang." She says exitedly "Hey, Aang! You ready to be cheered up?"
I got distracted by a butterfly it was so pretty I started to follow it about but being weary not to scare it of. Guess Sokka was wrong there is life. Then I heard a voice behind me.
