Song ~ Redbone by Childish Gambino
"Dad! Dad! It's my birthday." Kiyadee, at the age of 7, knew she was loved and that her family was happy. Today was her birthday, and as any 7-year-old girl would be, she was basically bouncing off the walls.
Karou her brother tried calming her down all day but every time he said. 'calm down.' she would reply. 'I can't it's my birthday!'
She was always such a happy girl, that's for sure. Her parents used to say her brother was a strong bear who could defeat the strongest of creatures. Her sister Amaro was an intelligent owl who knew so much and was the wisest. Kiyadee was a cat, a little sneaky and mischievous, but also with such a bright essence.
They told their children stories about the creatures and always started it off like this:
The Bear was strong but sad, the Owl was wise but stubborn, and the cat was playful but had no one to play with. One day they all met each other and became the best of friends. Although they were an odd bunch they completed each other. They became family and were always there for each other.
They told the little ones the adventure of the 3 animals. Karou soon got too old for them but still listened attentively. Amaro said she didn't want to listen to little kid stories but deep down she loved them and Kiyadee thought no matter what she would never get sick of them.
Earlier her dad went out to a bar he was in distress. Their family wasn't well off for the most part they were poor. Her mum had a job as a local sewer fixing all the holes in clothes which brought barely anything in. Her Dad had two jobs one as a fisherman and the other as a stall worker. Kiyadee didn't know when her dad went for which job the way she knew which job her Dad had just worked was if she smelled sea salt and fish. But no matter what she would run up and give him the biggest hug when he came back to tell him that she appreciated what he did.
In the bar, Kiyadee's dad overheard a sergeant and lieutenant discussing how they were going to attack an Earth Kingdom city and he offered them advice.
At first, they made fun of his clothes told him he probably had one too many beers and he should find a stall to market, however when he opened his mouth it was a different story they were stunned by how he knew so much about war tactics. They used them which led them to be victorious. They also told him they wanted him to speak to their higher-ups.
Obviously, he wouldn't pass it up so he agreed and went home happier than ever. It was his daughter's birthday today and he wanted to celebrate and tell them the good news. On his way, he brought her a cake it was small but he knew his kids would appreciate it.
When he came home he felt relaxed but also ashamed all his children were cramped in one small damp bedroom in a house that squeezed and squashed then he didn't want his kids to grow up poor he would make them proud.
"Daddy!" From around the corner, Kiyadee sprang up and wrapped her small arms around her dad. "We're playing the yes/no game." She burst out.
"Oh, that seems like fun but don't you think it's time to cut the cake?" The little girl's eyes lit up.
"Cake?! CAKE! You got me a cake." They usually didn't have cake on birthdays only special ones like turning 10.
The whole family surrounded their wooden dining table in the cramped living room and cheered for Kiyadee which made her even happier. She couldn't believe it. She was getting cake on her birthday. They all presented her with her gift.
Amaro knew how much she loved pretty rocks so she got her a yellow crystal it was beautiful and Dee jumped up and hugged her sister happily. "I'm happy you like it. I had to trade both my fluffy pencils for it."
