Song ~ Dark red by Steve Lacy
My cold had gone away but my head still ached. Katara said it was some type of after effect and I just had to wait till it went away, on the other hand Sokka was very sick.
I thought I was bad when I was sick but he was hallucinating, talking nonsense. It was actually kind of funny.
I could tell Katara was getting sick as well. She was losing focus and I asked her to pass me a pencil and she gave me a pot. I left her to rest after that.
Sokka coughed violently. He sounds like an old man. "You know what I love about Appa the most?" He asked Katara who was perched next to him "His sense of humour." He chuckled.
"That's nice. I'll tell him." She said. Just then Appa growled making Sokka laugh harder.
"Classic Appa." He sniffed. Poor dude, he's out of it. I walked over to Aang and Katara.
"That storm took a toll on him." Katara said concerned.
"Yeah, he looks like he's on something" I say smiling.
"Dee!" Katara says sternly.
"Ok, I get it no jokes"
"I couldn't find any ginger root for the tea. But I found a map. There's an herbalist institute on top of that mountain. We could probably find a cure for Sokka there." Aang said happily.
"Aang, he's in no condition to travel." Katara motioned to him.
"Sokka just needs more rest." I assured her. Putting my hand on her shoulder "I'm sure he'll be better by tomorrow." At that moment Katara began coughing as well.
Aang looked shocked "Not you, too." He groaned.
"Relax." Katara said not worried. "It was just a little cough. I'm fin..." She coughed again.
"That's how Sokka started yesterday." Aang said.
"Yeah look at him." I say looking over to him."He thinks he's an earthbender." I say unamused.
They both look at him. "Take that, you rock." Sokka muttered moving his arms weirdly.
Aang looked at Katara. "A few more hours and you'll be talking nonsense, too." He walked over to his glider.
"I'm going to find some medicine." He stopped as lightning struck and dropped his glider. "Uh, maybe it's safer if I go on foot." He grinned before running off.
"Ok bye!" I yell.
Sokka coughed weakly. "Katara, please, water." He grasped. It's like every time I turn my head he gets worse.
"Ok don't-" Katara coughed roughly. She held onto the side of Appa as she heaved. I rush over to her and lay her down next to Sokka.
I tut "Katara you're sick. I'll get the water." I pat her shoulder and take the canister and rush to the stairs out of our shelter.
"Thank you." She whispered.
"Hey, not so fast Mr," Sokka got out. "I'm Rocky the eartbender and you're under arrest for be-being Fire Nation."
I just stood there can he not do this now? "Sokka don't be ridiculous," She screeched out between coughs. "She's from the Earth Kingdom."
"Yeah, I am and I need to go so." I rush off down the steps till I hit the ground and I walk through the forest.
I remember seeing a lake close by. I keep walking until I see the crystal blue water. I kneel and start collecting water. Just then I noticed a boat not too far in the distance to my right.
