Libby pulled the thin fleece blanket over her legs and curled up on the sofa. She picked up the remote control and switched the television over to BBC 1.
Question Time was just about to start.Seb was appearing on it and she, like the rest of the team, was interested in seeing how he did. After all, he was a racing driver, not a politician.
Her phone beeped as the theme tune started. She picked it up, momentarily confused when she saw that she'd had a text from Seb, before she remembered that show had been prerecorded a few hours earlier.
Seb: just stopped at services, will be there in about an hour. What a long day! I'm knackered, and I'm starving! Could you be an angel and order pizza? Same as last time, if you remember. 💋
Libby: Yeah ok, and yes I remember. Just about to watch you. Hope it went well 💋
Fifty minutes later Libby answered the door to the pizza delivery man. She thanked him and took the pizzas inside. She'd already had some pasta for her dinner earlier but had ordered herself a small pizza as she was a little peckish.
She put the boxes down on the coffee table. Seb would be here soon. She'd wait for him before she ate hers.
Minutes later Question Time finished. Libby smiled. Seb had done amazing. She was so proud of him. He spoke more sense than the politicians that had been on there.
She leant forward and sniffed the pizza boxes. She really was feeling extremely hungry now. Seb better hurry up!
Deciding to make a cup of tea while she was waiting, she headed into the kitchen. She'd just finished making it when she heard the doorbell ring.
Leaving her cup of tea on the kitchen counter she headed to the front door, a big smile on her face.
"Hey you, come on in. You were amazing!" she said, holding the door open for Seb to come in. He smiled bashfully at her and walked in.
"Hey gorgeous," he said as she closed the door, pulling her into a hug. "Did you get the pizza?"
"I did, go on in the lounge. I just made tea. Did you want one?"
"No thanks, I'll have a cold drink though."
"Orange juice?"
"Brilliant, thank you."
"I'll go get it. You go eat. Yours is the bigger of the two."
"Thanks baby, you're an angel. I could literally eat a horse."
"Didn't they feed you in London?"
"Not since breakfast. It's been pretty much non stop all day."
"I saw the photos Matt put online. Actually that reminds me. What have you done to your knee?" She'd noticed in the photos that he'd been sporting a bandage around his left knee.
"Oh that. I burnt it on my motorbike. It's not much, just best to keep it covered."
"You fool," she said, heading off to the kitchen.
Seb went into the lounge. He licked his lips as he smelt the pizza. He slipped his trainers off and sank onto the sofa. He was glad to be there, and it wasn't even the thought of sex that had him so happy, he was far too tired for sex anyway. It was just spending time with Libby. Their friendship was growing by the day, even when in different countries they'd texted every day.
He sat forward and began to undo the buttons on his blue and green plaid shirt.
"Here you go!" Libby placed a glass of orange juice onto the coffee table in front of him. She put her cup of tea down and sat down next to him.
