Libby pulled her BMW onto the gravel drive outside her mum's house. Her mum's Nissan was missing, as was Emmie's Mini. No one was home. She breathed a sigh of relief and rested her head on the steering wheel.
"Is everything ok?" Seb asked her from the passenger seat. She looked up at him and smiled weakly.
"I'm just kinda freaking out right now." Seb frowned. Did she regret asking him to come with her?
"Your mum knows I'm coming right?"
"Yeah, I texted her and told her I was bringing a friend." What she didn't tell Seb was her mum would probably freak out even more when she saw exactly who the friend was.
"Are you worried she'll think there's something more between us?" Libby laughed nervously.
"Believe me, that's the least of my worries."
"Libs, why did you ask me if you think it's going to cause problems?"
Libby shrugged. "I just...I've enjoyed spending time with you and I didn't want it to end."
"So what's the problem? Are you worried about your sisters?"
"Nah, they know about us."
"They do?" he said, surprised.
"Well Emmie does, don't get mad. We're twins. We tell each other everyrhing. Sadie knows I'm sleeping with someone from the team, but she doesn't know it's you, she thinks it's a mechanic." Seb laughed.
"I'm not mad, just surprised. I didn't realise you'd told anyone."
Libby opened her door and climbed out. Seb followed her. Leaving their cases in the car for now they headed to the front door. After unlocking it Libby opened it and they headed inside.
Seb was surprised yet again by the inside of the modest looking detached house. The only word he could think to describe it was posh. He'd never thought Libby was posh. Not that it mattered, she didn't act it.
He followed her through the large hallway into a massive kitchen. Libby headed straight to the fridge and opened it, taking out two cans of Diet Coke and handing one to Seb.
"So where's your mum?" he asked as he opened the can and took a long gulp from it.
"She's probably still at work."
"What does she do?"
"She's a dentist. She co owns a practice over in Havant."
"What about your sisters?"
"Emmie works in public relations at a theatre in Southampton. Sadie is an accountant, well she was until she had Benjamin."
"What are they like?" He wanted to get some sort of an idea about them before he met them.
"Well Sadie is the serious one. She thinks just because Emmie and I are the other side of thirty now we should be settling down and popping out kids left, right and centre."
Seb opened his mouth to ask Libby if she wanted children, but he shut it again after remembering she'd lost the love of her life, and probably the only guy she'd ever seen herself having kids with.
"Emmie can be like me but she's got a really dry sense of humour and a foul temper. She is nosey, very opinionated and I wouldn't change her for the world."
"And it's just the four of you?"
"Well, if you're asking about our father then don't, please. Not around Mum anyway. Very sore subject."
