Libby stood there feeling awkward as hell.  What the fuck had that been about? Who were these people? And why had Seb walked off and left her alone with them? And why had he seemingly cancelled their night of steamy sex?

The tall blonde woman laughed nervously.  The dark haired man with her put his hands in his pockets and sighed.  "I don't know what you expected Carmen," he said in German, obviously unaware that Libby could understand basic German.  "He was never going to welcome you with open arms.  He's obviously not over you."

The woman sighed and looked at Libby.  "Hi, you're probably wondering who I am," she said in English.

"Not particularly," Libby lied. She was actually very curious about who this woman was.  From the sound of it Seb had been involved with her in the past.

It was then that she realised she really had no idea about Seb's past romantic history.  All she knew, and all she'd wanted to know, was that he was currently single and had no wish to be in a relationship.  Was this woman the reason why?

"I'm Carmen Neuer, Seb and I used to be engaged."   Seb had been engaged? He'd never mentioned it.

"Look Carmen, he obviously doesn't want to talk to you.  Let's go.  Thomas is getting tired."

Carmen turned to Libby. "Please can you ask him to call me?"

Libby didn't know what it was about this woman but she didn't like her. "I'll tell him but I think he's made it pretty clear he doesn't want to talk to you. Now if you'll excuse me..."

Libby turned and dashed back outside to see if she could find Seb. He'd obviously been rattled by seeing the woman and Libby was worried about him.

She glanced left and right but he was nowhere to be seen. She saw Antti still stood where they'd left him a few
minutes earlier. She went up to him.

"Hey Antti, did you see where Seb went?" Antti looked confused.

"He was with you last time I saw him."

"Damn, he must have passed you when your back was turned."

"What happened?" Antti asked, sensing something wasn't right.

"He stormed off. He saw some woman, his ex fiancée apparently. She was in the lobby with another man and a toddler." Antti swore under his breath. "Was she telling the truth?"

"Carmen?" Libby nodded. "Yes, she's his ex fiancée. They split up nearly two years ago now." Libby's brain began working overtime.

"The toddler?"

"Not his." Antti clammed up. He didn't want to say any more. It was up to Seb if he told Libby about what had happened in past.

Libby took her phone out of her jacket pocket and rang Seb's number. It rang and rang and rang. Finally it went to voicemail.

"Hey Seb, it's Libby. Are you ok? Please get back to me. I'm worried."

"He'll be fine Libby. He just likes to be alone when he's...upset or angry."

Libby wondered which it was. Was he upset or was he angry? Was Carmen's companion right? Was Seb not over her? And why did it matter so much to Libby? They weren't in a relationship. They were fucking. She shouldn't care whether he had feelings for another woman, but she did. Libby sighed. Seb was a good friend and she didn't like the idea of him being upset. That's why she cared. Carmen must be the reason he
didn't do relationships. She wondered what had happened.

After saying goodbye to Antti again she headed inside the hotel. Thankfully Carmen was nowhere to be seen. She took the stairwell back up, arriving on the fourth floor slightly breathless.
