You hate it. You hate sharing a room with random people in a random part of the estate. You miss sharing a room with the three boys you used to, in a room you always occupied. Now you were with this random squad who seem to know each other so more!
You just want to be included again, you aren't made to be a side character! You don't deserve to be treated like this, they are in the wrong.
It was not your fault you got hurt! It's not your fault you can't help but be honest! You just want people to feel some karma, who cares if it hurts them, you hurt more!
But that's not right, is it? This isn't how a real main character would act, is it? Would that mean you were used as a plot device? How fucked is that? Fuck you Tanjirou! He never had to lose an eye!
You just want them to understand you, to feel the same way you felt. No, you want them to feel worse.
Maybe you were growing sour and mean. Maybe you lashed out and said hurtful things. That didn't mean you deserve this, to be treated like shit!
"Hoot!" The owl on your window seal hooted loudly in the dark of night. The other occupants in the room snored loudly. You had large bags under your one eye and your hair was messy from yet another makeshift haircut.
You turned to the owl, biting your nail in anger. Blood seeped into your mouth from the aggressiveness. The iron taste brought you comfort.
Your owl had a note on its leg, and it tilted its head very far at the disheveled sight of you. The poor bird looked at you worriedly as you glared at it for its constant noises.
"What is it Thana?" You asked grumpily, you started to get out of bed to walk around. You were restless.
Thana, the owl, reached its leg out and got you to untie the ribbon connecting the letter to its limb. The bird hooted quietly in sadness when you didn't pet them as you usually did. You sent a quick glare and turned around to read the letter.
The letter read:
Dear Y/n,
I truly enjoyed the tea we had together, please come by more often. My wife loves to see you...
You skipped through the heartfelt part of the letter, not wanting to read all the useless stuff and get to the important shit. That was probably really disrespectful you know?
I have explained the situation to the sound pillar, Uzui Tengen, and he said he will come and pick you up in a week. At first, he said he didn't want to work with you, but I scolded him. You do not have to worry about him causing a fuss.
Did you make it to your check-up? I hope nothing too serious is going on with your eye, because if something was seriously wrong Kocho may need to take it out. I'm sure those boys you keep as company wouldn't like to see you in an operation anytime soon.
Stay safe,
Ubuyashiki Kagaya
You let out a small growl at the end of the letter, it made itself a reminder of your predicament. You stuffed the letter in your shirt before you could lash out and rip it up.
"Hoot?" Thana hooted with a head turn, walking across the windows seal back and forth. They made a scratching noise with each movement. You were getting frustrated.
"Thana, beat it will you?" You said with a bit of venom, making your owl flap its wings and fly away quickly, hooting loudly as they did so.
Maybe you should feel bad.
You sighed and sat down on the floor, rummaging through the bedside table near your bed. You found a piece of paper and ink cartridge. You also found the paintbrush type thing older people used to write with. You did not know how to.
You went back to chewing on your thumb, drawing blood, and making it drip onto the paper under you a bit. You took your finder from your mouth and watched the crimson liquid roll down your forearm to the cloth of your shirt.
You took the blood and started to write on the paper. It was messy but readable:
I am very upset right now, so I will not be visiting you anytime soon. I am sorry. I forgot to mention earlier but the three boys I USED to keep as company are vital for the mission. Tell Uzui, please.
Please comfort Thana a little, I let out my anger on them a bit.
Don't question what this is written in, I have trouble writing with the tools you use.
Don't die,
Y/n.
You looked at the letter for a while, your eyes lingering on the word 'USED' as a term that referred to your friendship. The past tense term of a friendship. One friendship you once relied on.
You let out a sob.
Taisho Era Secret! Zenitsu Style!
Zenitsu still very much cares about you but is scared to get on the bad side of Tanjirou and Inosuke. He could hear you were sad even when you were yelling at the three of them, so he feels regretful.
