🖤Chapter 6🖤

The next morning, I wake to the bright sunlight streaming through the window, and I almost forgot I was still in Harley's room. I look besides me to see him sleeping peacefully, his messy blonde hair strewn across his face, causing me to swipe it away. I catch him smiling softly, his eyes closed, and his grip tightening around my waist, pulling me closer to him.

"Good morning, sunshine." He whispers as he pecks my cheek and works his way down to my neck.

"Good morning, handsome." I chuckle as his kisses tickle me.  He laughs along with me, and we start tickling each other, with him winning. I recall how wonderful it felt to be in Harley's arms last night. I know this was technically a one-night stand and that a relationship will not develop from it, but I can't help but imagine it.

"Oh shi-" I stammer.

"What?" He inquires as he notices me leaping out of bed and quickly reaching for my phone.

"We're going to be late! Cole has left ten missed calls for me." I freak out, Harley checks the time on his phone, but his expression remains calm.

"Relax, baby; I usually wake up later."

He was correct; I was overreacting because I usually like to arrive early because Cole and I lived quite far away from the school, whereas Harley lived within walking distance.

"Did you inform Cole that you were staying here?" Harley's question causes my eyes to widen.

"Shit." I say this before dialling Cole's number, desperate for him to respond.

"Hello? Audrey, what the fuck have you been up to?" He screams as he answers the phone.

"I'm so sorry; I should have told you sooner. I decided to stay with Harley."

"No shit, Sherlock. You could have at the very least messaged me. I'll see you at work; you've been assigned to Finn today." He says this before hanging up the phone.

As I sit on the edge of the bed, I rest my head on my hand, Harley sits besides me gently rubbing my shoulders.

"Is everything all right?" His tone is concerned.

"Yeah, today I'm paired with Finn." I sigh, but then I notice Harley's expression change; he now appears angry.

"Finn? Really?" He gets up and walks to his bathroom, irritated.

I still don't know what happened between them, but I decide to wait until he is ready to tell me or until Finn tells me, which is most likely today. I chose to borrow a black button-down shirt from Harley to match my white skirt from the day before because I needed to change something about my outfit.

Harley walks out of the bathroom completely dressed in his work attire, wearing another dress shirt that hugs his ripped muscular body tightly and some black jeans. 'God, I want to rip his clothes off him right now.' My perverted mind butts in. He catches me glimpsing at him and walks over to me and helps me with the very last button of my shirt.

"You should wear my clothes more often." He winks before exiting the room, and I quickly follow.

We arrived at school only five minutes before the first bell, and there was no one waiting for me outside, so I went to look for Finn, who was probably in the English and Math building. I looked in almost every room and he was nowhere to be found until I approached the final door and saw a young man's back. It was Finn.

"Good morning, Audrey." When he heard the door open, he turned around. I smile at him before walking in and hugging him. I look at his visuals once again, it's so weird seeing him in heavy makeup and clothes however he still has beautiful brown eyes that remind me of how close we used to be.
Sure, he was stunning, but I never had feelings for him, especially since he is Cole's older brother, and Cole made it clear that his brother is off limits, which I accepted.

"I heard you stayed at Harley's last night." As I sit at the teacher's desk, Finn directs his attention to me. He walks over to the desk and leans in front of me, his hands on either side of the chair in which I am sitting.

"I did, and it's none of your business." I snap at him, and he laughs quietly to himself.

"He'll throw you away like the rest of them, you know." He says this as he walks away from me.

"Excuse me? What exactly do you mean?" I sprint up to Finn and turn him to face me.

"All of his previous relationships ended in disaster, he cheated on them, used them for sex, abused them, and now he's going to add a new doll to his collection." Finn has a serious expression on his face as he looks at me.

Is Harley really as bad as Finn portrays him to be?

"That's not how he acts around me. He is gentle, kind, and does not use me for sex." I defend my attempt to change the subject.

"So you didn't have sex last night?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me.

"... that's none of your business!"  I stammer as I take my seat back into the chair.

Finn rolls his eyes and opens the classroom door to let the students in; this time, they are not young, these students appear to be in their last year of school. I quickly straighten my back and think to myself, 'Well, this is going to be difficult.'

Finn returns to the front of the room and raises a hand in the air to get the students' attention.

"Today, I will not be your teacher. The lovely Miss Scarlet will be." He says smirking at me. He's only doing it because he's fed up with Harley. Unsure what to do, I stand up and walk over to Finn in the front of the room, waving and introducing myself. Some students were quick to notice Finn and I's awkward tension, so I tried to keep a safe distance between us throughout the lesson.

I'm glad the students had to do an assignment because I would have been useless standing in front of the class and attempting to explain 12th grade math.

Finn occasionally glanced at me throughout the lesson and all I could do in response was roll my eyes and pray he would stop. If the students suspect anything happening between Finn and I, both of us could get into trouble and while I'm trying to mind my own business, Finn just won't leave me alone.
