As we approach the pools' parking area, the car comes to a halt. The location is isolated, with nothing but forests surrounding us, and the building housing the pools appears to be a typical cottage.

"Trust me, it's really pretty on the inside." As we approach the front door, Felix notices my puzzled expression. Felix removes a key from his pocket and opens the front door, further perplexing me as to why he would have a key to a public location.

"How did you get a key?" As we enter inside, I wonder and gasp at the vista of the cottage. It features a large pool in the centre with many tiny spas surrounding it. Over against the wall opposite us is a bar with shelves packed with alcoholic beverages as well as regular bottles of Coke. A big U-shaped couch wraps around a fireplace behind the wall adjacent to the doorway, and a TV leans against the wall. "What is this place?" As I move near the bar, I ask excitedly.

"I forgot to mention that I rented this place out for a day." As he goes towards me, I'm already sat on a bar stool, he smiles and rubs the back of his neck.

"Felix!" I shout and smack him in the arm jokingly.

He takes a seat next me, leaning across the bar for a bottle of Soju. "I rented it before I came here, I always visit this place when I visit, it's perfect for relaxing." Felix says this as he pours two shot glasses of Soju. "Do you drink Soju?"

"I've never tried it." Felix's expression widens in surprise when I speak.

I take the glass and drink the liquid all at once, the bitter flavour lingering on my tongue as it burns my throat. As I went for the bottle for another shot, the scorching flavour grew addicting.

"Don't drink too much; it's really easy to become drunk on, especially knowing you." He chuckles as he takes the bottle from my grasp and places it where he found it.

Felix grabs my hand in his and leads me to the pool, where I dip my toe into the water. The water is quite warm, and I close my eyes because I can already feel it soothing me down. I open my eyes to see Felix already removing his shirt, and blush quickly spreads over my cheeks. He takes his sweatpants off that he was wearing and already wore swim trunks underneath, but it still caused me to feel like I'm not allowed to look.

Felix enters the pool and dives in, soaking his hair and face. "You should come in! It's incredible!" Shouts as he swims across the pool to the other side, which leans against a window with a view of outside.

"I'll bring over the drinks then!" I call back, dash back to the bar, grab the bottle of Soju, and head to the pool. I set the bottle down, hesitantly at first, then gradually remove Felix's sweater, my shirt underneath it, and the sweatpants I borrowed. I'm now standing in my panties and bra, walking down the pool stairs, letting the warm water bathe me and relax my muscles. I take the bottle of Soju and walk over to Felix, who is seated on a step designed for relaxing and admiring the view.

"Wow, it's beautiful." I take note of the vista outside the window. The pool house is situated on top of a tiny mountain, with views of the entire town and white pine trees sitting on the descending slope.

Felix glances at me while I concentrate on the snow outside, watching snowflakes fall. "It is."

I realise he wasn't talking about the view and start flushing, this time more visibly than usual. I try to conceal my crimson cheeks with my hands, but Felix stops me and puts his palms on my cheeks before pulling me in for a kiss.

I return his kiss and allow him take the lead as he gently shapes our lips together. "What happens for us?" he asks as he draws away. His tone was solemn.

I know I have to be careful with my remarks since I don't want to offend Felix in any way. "I don't want to leap into another relationship right now since I'm still hurting and vulnerable."

"I understand; I don't want to put any pressure on you; I just want to know whether there's a possibility for us. I-" In a soothing tone, he interrupts me.

"There definitely is. Let's just take this one step at a time for now." I smile, holding my hand up to his face, gently brushing it with my thumb as I feel him lean towards my touch.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" Felix bursts out after a break of silence, his eyes looking at my chest.

I follow his gaze and see the bright purple hickey that had formed on my chest, a lot bigger than i thought it would be. "Don't be sorry! It's a memory." I laugh staring at it more realising the bruise might be a bit tricky to hide.

We split a whole bottle of Soju while relaxing in the pool for almost an hour, enjoying each other's company as well as the view in front of us. As dinnertime approached, I became quite hungry; we had a snack while sitting and admiring the scenery, but hunger had taken over. We both agreed to go back to Felix's for dinner, so we dried off and prepared to return to the car. I promptly check my phone for messages or phone calls and discover that my father had attempted to reach me and left multiple text messages.

I'm sorry for yelling at you and Felix, I didn't mean to.

Tell Felix I'm sorry, invite him over for dinner.

I made your favourite! Chicken and avocado donburi bowl! I hope Felix will like it.

Again, I'm sorry for hurting you both.

I love you and I want you to trust me.

I know it shouldn't be this easy to forgive my father, but just reading his texts put a smile on my face. The last time I had a homemade donburi bowl was when I was twelve so having my dad remember means a lot. I can't help a tear that escapes my eye and a soft trembling smile creeping onto my lips.

"Is everything okay?" Felix notices my soft whimpers and rushes over to me, grabbing ahold of my shoulders. I don't reply but instead show him the text messages. "H-how are you feeling?"

"H-he's really trying Felix. I know he genuinely feels sorry, I can tell." I stutter and cry into Felixs arms.

"Did you want to go to back to the cabin then? We can have dinner there." He questions, lifting my chin up with one hand as I nod.
