I feel myself waking up from my deep slumber, keeping my eyelids shut as Felix's fingers softly brushes through my hair. I shudder at the exquisite touch and find myself smiling.

"I see you're awake." His morning voice is husky. Felix chuckles to himself as I bury my face in his chest to hide my smile.

"Did you sleep okay?" I query the freckled boy as he softly sits up, holding my hand to his chest. I eventually open my eyes as I tear myself away from Felix. His hair is delightfully fluffy, his sandy golden locks enveloping his face, and his lovely coffee-colored eyes sparkling into mine as if I were watching the sun set over the horizon, a truly stunning scene. I realise I've been looking into his eyes for too long and force myself away from him, get up and hurrying away to the restroom.

Only Felix is present when I enter the communal kitchen and living room. My father must have departed for work early this morning since he was not in his bedroom when I passed by.

"I made you a cup of coffee with caramel syrup." Felix smiles at me as he walks over from the kitchen to hand me a coffee-filled mug. I can smell the caramel right away and close my eyes in satisfaction as I take a sip of the hot liquid.

"How did you figure out I liked caramel?" I turn my head to look at him.

"Well, I spotted the caramel bottle over there and realised it was the exact same one from your place, so I just put two and two together." He comments, pointing to a syrup bottle next to the kettle.

I grin at Felix and take a seat on an armchair, and he does the same. We sit in peace, finishing our drinks before Felix breaks the silence.

"You didn't move an inch while sleeping, you looked so peaceful." Felix's voice becomes softer as he finishes his sentence.

"Yeah, I had the nicest night's sleep in a long time last night." I grin at him and get up to carry both of our mugs to the kitchen.

"I didn't think you were much of a cuddly person," Felix adds as he walks behind me.

"I am, and it makes me feel safe."

Felix laughs to himself as he washes his cup. "What are the plans for today?" He inquires, leaning back against the kitchen counter.

"I'm not sure," I say, standing in front of him, "but I have a spare key to the cabin so I can leave."

"So, how about we go for a drive? I know a beautiful lake close by. Plus, the snow has gone down a lot this morning." The blonde responds by pointing to the window. Although there was still snow on the ground, the road beneath was visible, and exploring the area seemed like a good idea.

"That sounds nice, but won't it be cold?" I grin at the boy as I continue to stand in front of him, utterly unaware of how close we are.

"I have extra thermal coats in case yours isn't enough." He smiles and he walks out the door to change and bring his car back while I fix myself up.

I settle on thermal black tights and a red chequered pattern warm coat, which should be plenty for the cold outside given that I'm sweating profusely inside the cabin. I grab a black beanie and rush out the front door, locking it behind me, and see Felix waiting outside in his car.

"You look beautiful." Felix nearly whispers, as if he doesn't want me to hear him.

"I really don't; I just combed my hair and didn't put on makeup." I reject the remark and sink into my seat, turning my head away from Felix so I may smirk quietly to myself without him seeing.

"Exactly, you have natural beauty." I'm taken aback by his response. As he drives out of the village, I continue to look out the window, waving and smiling at the children and parents as we pass by.

Felix said that the journey would take around ten minutes if traffic was light, and I used that opportunity to soak in the breathtaking view that surrounded us. We went through a little town just outside the village that was designed to seem extremely old-fashioned, and I saw people dressed quite professionally inside the small stores and restaurants.

"We should have lunch there afterwards!" Felix cheerfully points to an ancient two-story structure that looks to be a buffet of food from all around the world.

"It looks expensive." I say, biting my lower lip. I'd want to treat myself to a nice meal, but my holiday income won't be enough since I left a month early.

"It isn't; if you can't afford it, I can always pay for your lunch." Felix smiles, and I see he's only got one hand on the driving wheel. His other hand is on the gear stick, but he appears to be reaching over my side. I spare him the effort by softly laying his hand on my thigh. As he attempts to focus on the road ahead, Felix's eyes expand and his cheeks glow a beautiful coral pink. I giggle and lay my palm on top of his to soothe him, rubbing little circles on it.

"We've arrived." Felix spoke out after the remainder of the journey was quiet. Looking up from my seat, I observe a body of pure blue water in the distance, bordered by trees. It was hardly visible, and it appears like we will have to travel down a tiny track to get to the lake. "It's only a short walk, and there will be food trucks and chairs along the lake's edge if you choose to eat here instead." Felix grins and blushes even more as I look down to find his hand still on my thigh, causing him to jerk his hand away.

When we get out of the car, I see why Felix mentioned his thermal coats. My nose seems like it's going to freeze off at any moment, the air is cold, and I find myself buttoning up my coat faster than I expected before stuffing my hands into the pockets.

"Please let me know if you become too cold." The silky voice immediately warms me, and I follow behind Felix as we march down the path. I attempt to peer through the trees to see if I can notice any animals, as Mountain Waters is devoid of wildlife. "One of Luke's cats came from here. He rescued him right there." Felix says, pointing to a certain tree.

"I'm guessing you boys have been here together?" I wonder, picturing the group on vacation here.

"Yeah, we all went camping up here soon before you got in town."

Cole told me about a trip they all went on, and I heard about Jesse and Syd trying to climb a tree as Chris shouted them off, which Cole filmed, while Luke and Hayden were already near the lake and Felix was with Harley.

"Cole told me everything, and it seemed like you guys had a great time." I laugh as I recall how chaotic the bunch can be.

"We certainly did, and now it's my chance to take a gorgeous girl to a lake." Felix responded with assurance. I smirk at him, he's clearly aware that I still have feelings for him, and now he's making it clear that he wants to try.
