Narrator: In the land of Miami
In a small house down the street
Lived a young girl named Josy
Writing in her diary
Josy: If only I had a life
Oh how happy I would be
I'll go for crazy rides
And run naked down the street
But I'm stuck in this old house
Slowly but surely dying
Starving day in and day out
I'm gonna start crying
Narrator: So she made a wish
To the star shining so bright
Josy: Dear Mr. Star I want a real life
Narrator: So she went to bed
Hoping that things will be alright
With sweet dreams in her head
While the star above reigned down its magic light
(The next day)
Narrator: She awoke with a start and noticed a slight change
Josy: My bed's on the ceiling and my room has been rearranged
Narrator: Everything in her house seemed like a zoo.
When her mom barged in and said, "Let's take a trip to the moon"
Josy said...
Josy: No mom!
Narrator: She cried
Josy: You know this is true
That I can't even go on a plane and fly
What makes you think I can take a trip to the moon?
Narrator: So her mom went away
And kissed her on her head
She said "we'll call you on the way"
And Josy rolled back into bed
Then a friend came by and knocked on her door
Walked in with a new boyfriend
That she could love and adore.
Josy: Hey friend I'm sorry
I'll take some candy or some toys
Love just isn't for me
I don't think I'm ready for boys
Narrator: Many different offers kept coming her way
But she didn't have the guts to do it
So she kept turning them away
Then she notice
Josy: My life is finally interesting and not a bore
But I'm still on my belly staring at the floor
Having a life isn't the moon, boyfriends or running naked on the beach
Maybe it's about taking advantage of every opportunity
Living life to the fullest
Enjoying all your time
If I only I did this
Maybe I would have a life.
