"Come in!"
He was all too happy to barge in.
He was too happy to partake in that Trader Joe's Dish
He was too happy, just too happy, to come on in
Dad was gone, and Mom was obviously pissed
But I was thrilled that he had dropped in
"Come in!" I begged, it was me; I made the decision
Making him a plate, unaware of the previous collison
Mom the whole night wanted to jump out of her skin
Yet I did not question this when I said, "Come in!"
He took Dad's chair at the table's head
For I should have known right then
That in between our jokes something was unspoken
Like I said, Dad was away, and he was an old family
Friend, even Dad would have told him to "Come in!"
Mom kicked him out half past ten, while I badgered
Her to let him stay in
But she's the boss, and her voice raised to shouts
She didn't care. She wanted him out
She escorted him out to the front porch stairs
I waited then looking down from my window to
See if they were still there
And as I secretly stared
I observed Mom's stares--her gaze
Then I caught his eyes' gaze
Mom opened the door of the cab and told him
To get in
But something was up, he wouldn't get in
Then she took him by the neck
And he took her by the hip
And then they both pulled each other in
The next thing I knew, they're skin-to-skin
Dad in her mind, but her heart full of him
