This is the story of me
I came to this stupid city
To get my dream position
Had some bad transitions
Took some expensive classes
Lived on bus pasesess
In hopes that I'd make it
You know making it
The thing we all want to do
The thing that connects me and you
I see me as the one
And you see you as the one
Yes John ended working at Macys
And Janet got stuck raising a family
But not you and me
We're going to be the ones
We're gonna take off- No run!
With this dream until it pans out
And remove all the doubt
But today we belong to this room
This dim-lit , late-rent room
Today we fight for a meal
Push down what we feel
Today we have mindless flings
That help with forgetting
That we may just join the ones
Who never become the one
