You're unintentionally funny when you say the things you say
"Lord keep me near the cross" in the evening ,
Followed by rise in shine in the day.
Looking back on my time with you,
you were anything but boring
You jumped roped in the kitchen,
And hula-hooped in the backyard,
you did it maybe once or twice.
And made it look not too hard.
.
When we would go to the beach,
a mermaid you would become.
Feet in the air followed by splashing,
those days we would have so much fun.
Who needed expired dinners from McDonalds,
when we lived under the best chef in town.
"Did your mother really make this?"
And I would reply with a yes and a....,
"She's world renowned."
I loved those night when we were about to go to bed,
And we would crawl up next to you as you would read,
My mom would have the best voices for characters,
for the kid who didn't have a mom like mine you were definitely in need.
Other kids would have to imagine to have a mother like mine.
She was involved and caring,
Smart and daring,
always divine.
And happened to be mine.
I look back at those moments,
and didn't appreciate that it would be moments of the past
To my dear beloved mother,
you are really all and more of what a daughter could ask.
