Father's don't stay around,
And mother's sit and bleed.
Everyone is struggling,
and no one believes in therapy.
Mom doesn't know how to verbalize her emotions,
And tears refused to be shed.
Mom just sits there and takes it,
but there are days she can't get up from her bed.
Dad comes around,
but not as often as he should.
Had no consistent man in the home,
figuring out to be the man you never could.
There was pain in this home,
that will probably impact me for the rest of my life.
But when I tell my wife I love her,
know I'm gonna protect her and treat her right.
When my kids go to bed,
I will always be there with a tuck and a kiss good night
This love ain't gonna be in the moment,
Or when the tides are at sides.
These vows are for real,
not just something I meant at the time.
We put in the work and continuously try,
I'm someone that my family can always rely.
You showed me what not to do,
And believe I have payed that price.
No more broken homes,
The cycle stops with me and my wife.
