From a distance, deep within, I believe characters beckon me.
They say:
Come with me
Into my world
Where the ring posts are never the limit
And just because we'll live by ropes
Doesn't mean we'll live restricted
If we please we will
Seize opportunities and surely own it
I am your masterpiece
And I promise we'll live life as you've never known it
So where do you want to go?
Yes, I know housing that sits on lakes that glow
And we'll spend a little more than change
Listen to the world scream our name
Have unknown people shout, "I love you'
Then marry a really down-to-earth dude
And we'll do this all with a tee and some ripped jeans
Never forgetting what it means to be humble
Mikayla this is our discombobulated sonnet
With I, you'll never forget what it means to be wanted.
Come with me
Into my world
On a couch coated with genuine leather
Where everything some how some way comes together
People they'll doubt, and they'll doubt every time
But we'll prove them wrong as surely as this rhyme
We'll score touchdowns
And ignite deception
Turning everyone's bad
Misconception
We'll limp over the finish line together
And survive the most horrendous weather
And when the pain sets like the evening sun
You and me, Mikayla will toast to a job well done
Come with me
To my most dreaded past
Where ahead lies a humongous task
The dangers are the most dangerous by far
But if we hold on, we might discover who we are
We'll uncover secret curses and unlock new power
Grow stronger and more aware of ourselves by the hour
And you'll never again wonder if you can
because this time, Mikayla, the power will be in our hands.
Come with me
To a smoky city with high-top roofs and unsolved mysteries
Along with a story that has a haunted history
You will travel with me to my school campus
And together we will try and figure out who the killer is
We'll throw on mask and then roam the night
And I trust that when we get into great plights
That you will continue to write us out of the scary situation
And we'll end Mikayla, with less harm and more revelation
Then I close the book.
Put a period on every idea, every one.
Kiss every character.
I let my pencil run.
I take their beckons.
For the real work has truly begun.
I write their stories--considering their requests done.
