>Join Nemesis' Pere Noel?<
>Yes?<
>No?<

I stared at the invite, not believing what I was seeing. A grin broke out across my face. "For real?" I whispered. My finger hovered over the screen.

  >Yes.<

The notification went away, and I was taken to the unit. Nemesis' avatar was at the top of the leaderboard. All the other art room kids were there. I scrolled down the titles and names.

  Nemesis, First Santa.
  Gallerian, Second Dealer.
  Banica, Fourth Shadow.
  Allen, Fifth Pierrot.
  Riliane, Sixth Royal.
  Carlos, Seventh Magician.

I took my place as the Third Sleep Princess. That was the reason it was in the game after all. Miss Julia had added it for me. The only one to be changed was number six. After Gatt left her friend group, he asked for it to be taken out.

Pere Noel could have up to twelve players per unit. Miss Julia had designed it so that you could join a friend's game. Well, okay, Ney had designed it like that on Miss Julia's orders. But she had also bugged the jail timer because she didn't get paid when she should have. Instead of it taking a minute or two, it could take up to an hour to get out of jail.

I smiled as I was sent a raid request.

"Hey, you're invited to a sleepover this weekend," Banica said quietly. Her hand twitched as she smiled at me. She looked down, then back up at me. "I hope you can make it." Then she went into her class.

I blinked. "I guess I'll give her my answer at lunch."

My next class was history, taught by Seth Twiright. He apparently had also knew Gumillia, as she helped pass out the work. When she saw me, she simply narrowed her eyes and pushed the papers at me roughly. I didn't smile at her.

"Alright, history is the record of time that's passed. The real beginning is still quite unknown," he said, moving his hands and arms as he spoke. "For many centuries, no one knew when time actually began."

"Why do we need to know all this stuff?" asked Nemesis, her voice muffled slightly. I think she may have been chewing gum.

Our teacher blinked. "Why is...history...important? Nemesis, after all I've taught you. I suppose I'll have to make you watch all those videos again." He huffed.

She hit her head on the desk. "Nnnnooooo......No more stupid history lessons. I already have to deal with all this homework. It takes sssoooo long..."

"Continuing on, history is important to us because we can learn things from it. More than you know." Mr. Twiright smiled, throwing his hands up by his face. Then he brought them back down. "Take, for example, the sinners throughout history. While they are nameless to us now, we can learn to not be like them. I hope someone can tell me what their sins were. Anyone? Ah, Kayo. Can you name the crimes?"

My friend lowered her hand. "Well, first there was the Duke in Asmodean who sorta kidnapped a lot of women. Then there was the Duke—well, she was more of a duchess—who ate seventeen people, and then herself." Kayo's eyes narrowed as she thought about it. "Followed by that princess in Lucifenia who was killed in a revolution. I forgot the rest."

"There was that girl who made a plague, and then she killed herself," Nemesis muttered. "After her was that tailor who killed a family of four. Uh, I'm blanking." She looked around, eyes wide.
