1 month later,
It was labor day weekend the family went out to the Barnes family lake house for the weekend. Bucky had brought Makayla with him for the weekend. When they arrived Maxie went straight up to her room.
"Maxie? Honey this is suppose to be a family weekend?" Sarah said
"If its suppose to be a family weekend then why is she here?" Maxie said as she stopped on the stairs.
Bucky cut her look.
"Maxie don't be rude." Sarah said as Maxie went on to her room.
A little bit later Steve arrived, and he gave Maxie bags full of her favorite candy and junk food. They shared a hug and he kissed the top of her head.
"Its going to be okay." Steve whispered
"Yeah." She whispered
The next day while everyone else was outside Maxie stayed in her room sitting in her bay window watching movies on Hulu using her laptop. Bucky was outside with everyone else packing on the PDA with Makayla and flirting.
At one point he saw her sitting in her window.
"Hey Makayla I'll be right back." He said as he kissed her cheek.
He went inside and up to Maxie's room.
"Maxie?" He said
He pulled out her air pods, "Come outside." He said
But she wouldn't look at him as she took her airpods back.
"Maxie come on you can't be like this forever. I said I was sorry.." he said
She just continued to be quiet and keep her gaze down.
Bucky sighed, and said "Fine but quit with the dirty looks and daggers at my girlfriend. You weren't ever like this with Brie." Bucky said as he walked out.
She put her airpods back in and moved to her bed so he couldn't see her in the window anymore.
