A year later,
It was Christmas time, everyone was gathered at James Sr place for Christmas dinner. When it was time for presents both Bucky and Maxie said they wanted to go last.
"You go first." Bucky said when everyone else was done opening gifts.
She had Sage who was now 2 hand him a box. "Thank you little princess." He said
She stood in between Maxie's legs, as he opened it. He opened the box, and removed tissue paper to reveal adoption papers.
"Maxie.." he said as tears filled his eyes.
"She is officially yours." She said
Bucky saw her new name was Sage Willow Barnes, "Thank you Maxie.." he said as he hugged them both.
"Come here Sage, I have something for you." He said as he wiped his face.
Everyone was wiping tears, and he helped Sage open up her gift to reveal a necklace.
"Ooo wook mama sparkwey." Sage said
"I see baby." She said as Bucky put it on her.
"Tink you daddy." She said as she hugged Bucky.
"You are welcome baby." He said
"All that is left is your present to Maxie." Sarah said
Bucky got up, he walked over to the stockings he hid his present to her in his grandmother's stocking. She winked at him and he smiled at her.
"Maxine Joanna Rogers, its been an incredible ride with you. I have one more girl that needs a last name change. And thats you, I love you Maxie and I want to love you the rest of my life. Will you marry me?" He said
He opened up the ring box to reveal a mountain blue diamond ring.
"Yes..oh my god yes." She said as she cried
He slipped the ring on her finger then kissed her. Everyone clapped and cheered!
