I look at myself in the mirror and smile. I still feel a bit of the weed in my system because in this moment I feel unstoppable, and more pretty then I normally do. Weed always does that to my head. It makes me think I'm the hottest person on the planet.

I go into my bag and grab my weed pen, taking a few more hits. I need the confidence to talk to Conrad, tonight's the night. I'm gunna get him to break, he's going to spill all his secrets to me; including the fact that he's been in love with me since we were kids. I just know it. It's happening.

My phone rings and I see it's Belly FaceTiming me, "ready?" She asks, she's wearing a pink dress and I squeal.

"Oh em gee!" I clap. "You look so fucking cute, stop it! What about me, do you like my outfit?" I smile doing a cute twirl.

I'm wearing a tight red dress, it goes just past my thighs. I have my hair in a loose French braid since I just washed it earlier today, and I plan on going to the beach again in the morning. It's kind of gross because I have chlorine in my hair but it'll be okay for one night. I also have some make up on, to brighten up my eyes.

"Beautiful," she smiles. "You okay to walk, I don't really want to driv—"

"Wasn't planning on driving, the weed is still in my system. We can walk and catch a ride home with the guys later," I say. Although I'm high, I'm aware of what is right and wrong.

"Okay, works for me. Wear comfy shoes, it's a few blocks."

"Wait Belly, stop." I say quietly. I'm staring at the bonfire party in front of me, and my nerves are in full gear. There is so many people, I didn't fully process how many people would be here. "I don't think I can do this, this isn't really my scene," I mumble.

"What why? It's just a party," she says as if it's no big deal. So she can make Conrad and me feel like asses for smoking a joint but she thinks a party with the whole point of it is to drink, and hook up with people is nothing?

I take a deep breathe, eyes focused on the fire in front of me. It looks so warm over there. Maybe if I just walk over there I'll be okay.

"It's just a party that we weren't invited too, I don't want to look dumb when we have no one to talk too," the weed in my system is causing a panic attack instead of helping. This stuff is definitely not from a dispensary, maybe the fact that I mixed my dispensary weed with Conrad's is causing me to panic.

Ugh, I just want Conrad right now. This weed is making me super cuddly, Conrad is cuddly — at least he looks cuddly, I wouldn't actually know considering the closest we've ever gotten is maybe a one minute long hug.

"Actually," Belly says. "I was invited, so technically you're my plus one." I look over at her, realizing my brain had lost its train of thought about the party and was entering Conrad Village. Once my brain fully wraps around her comment, my heart beat begins to slow a little bit at the fact that we aren't actually going to be crashing a party.

"You were?" I ask. "By who?"

"A guy I met at the gas station earlier invited me, plus it's a beach. No one owns the beach," she says. "Let's go."

She doesn't give me a second to process who actually invited her before she loops her arm with mine and pulls me forward. She stops just enough that we're seen by everyone here.
