"Intubation!" Dr. Mamaradlo shouted, while I'm doing the cpr at the patient. For a year I am assigned in the emergency room. The next year of me being a registered nurse made me stay more here at the emergency room. Mas kailangan raw ako dito.
I really have no choice, but to be here. Since I already achieved kuya's dream. We work together, I become his nurse for a couple of months, then nilipat rin ako dito sa e-r. He wanted me to grow and to explore more about this field.
Back then in college, it was really a hell for me. I barely survived each day, as I went to work for real it wasn't bad at all- I barely eat because each patient kept coming and coming. But, I get used to it.
"His pulse are back." We sighed in relief. Another patient came, so I have no choice but to help.
It's a bullet shot, so I helped for the preparation while waiting for the operating room. "Dr. All nurses are busy." Natatarantang sabi ng isang nurse, I think he's dr conception's nurse.
Tinuro ako, and before I could even react pinabihis na ako at pumunta sa or 4.
It wasn't my first time in the or, but it will be my first time to see a man in the operating room with a gun shot.
"Nurse Ashey. Let's focus." Sabi ni dr. conception before starting the operating. I was more focused, even with no instruction or reminder.
"Scalpel." I am assisting, and it was my first ever long hours here in the operating room.
I tilted my head and massaged my shoulder. I received a call from Krissete, so I rushed going to the 25th floor.
"Buti nalang at nakarating ka agad." Bungad niyang sabi.
"Yeah. I just got off from the operating room." I sighed, and seat. I thought it was an emergency.
Krissete, is the only person aside from my family that I shifted a course during college. I trust her very much at my utmost respect.
"May emergency kasi si 'tong si Ford." She sighed, I nod my head and seat. "Saan ka galing? Bakit mukang pagod na pagod ka?"She asked.
"I went to the operating room and assist." Pag kukuwento ko sakaniya.
"OR? Tagal no'n ah. pero dami rin namang learnings." I just nod my head.
"Uso rin magpahinga girl. Ever since you shift course, nag iba ka na. Lalo na ngayong nasa hospital ka. Hindi ka robot, okay?" Krissete reminded me again.
"It's okay hindi naman ako pagod." I said and prepared to bring the injection.
"Oo nga seventeen hours ka lang naman nag trabaho today." She sighed, nang umalis ako at pumunta na sa room 208.
Nang makabalik ako ay naka kita ako ng kape sa table namin. It's already midnight, so probably Krissete bought one.
"Hinahnap ka kanina dr. zacarias. 'Yan nagpadala ng kape." She told me and handed me a cup of coffee.
"Sige, text ko nalang mamaya." I told her and take a sip on the coffee she handed me.
I get my phone on my pocket to text kuya.
To: Kuya
Dumaan ka daw po? Thanks for the coffee.
I tilted my head, and reviewed the patient's chart. Sino ang mga kailangan palitan ng iv bags. May tatlong patient na kailangan palitan, may limang patient need to put iv injection. And for room 210 I need to monitor.
"Kalmado naman dito. Hindi gaya sa er." Krissete chuckled.
My phone vibrated so I get my phone from the pocket of my uniform.
