It was June 10th, a week after Lucky's 30th birthday. Although he requested and asked Ava not to do any surprises, he appreciated the brunch that Renae left him no choice but to attend and enjoy. There was business talk that he and King exchanged privately but he would touch bases on that once other situations were taken care of. Most of the day he spent with the family, later in the evening, Lucky turned into a hermit and needed to recharge his social battery.
While the family gave him his requested space, he spent the remainder of his reset year watching cartoons with Ava, Zora, and the pups. Life and time waited on and for nobody. The wedding was around the corner and Lucky still had a couple of things left to sort out but there were quite a few other things that had to be dealt with in between; family business per se.
But while Lucky was in the process of that, Dajon and Ary were at another doctor's appointment trying to figure out why she was dealing with infertility issues when everything seemed to be fine within. The skies were gray, but not a drop or hint of rain was present and Dajon felt as if he were hearing the same story just from newer lips.
"It may sound dumb, but most women don't realize that rushing to the bathroom to urinate or clean up can be a factor as to why they aren't conceiving."
Ary tried to keep her face from displaying the way she felt but that was indeed the dumbest yet most interesting thing she's heard.
"Help me out here Doc, 'cause one moment it's pee after sex, change your sheets, pull out... now you're saying not to pee?" Dajon queried.
The doctor chuckled, "peeing is fine and always recommended but... the woman needs to stay in bed for some time after intercourse to guarantee that the sperm gets a chance to reach the egg and fertilize it."
"The cooking method," Ary mumbled.
Dajon stared at her dubiously, "huh?"
"The way she's explaining it... it reminds me of cooking. First, you turn on the burner, place the pan on top, let it warm up, pour oil, let that get hot enough before you place the meat in the pan," she said then glanced at the doctor.
"Well... actually, I've never heard anyone explain it like that but I will say yes, that is what I'm saying."
"Now we looking at this as if it's food..." Dajon slouched over, "wait until my sister hears about this."
The doctor laughed, "It's really nothing to feel a way about. We've run plenty of tests, and it just seems as if you two are doing things the wrong way mistakenly."
"How can someone have sex wrong?"
"Obviously we are," Ary stated.
"You're supposed to be the one with the universe,"
"See-"
"No blame game," the doctor cut in before the pair could begin fussing again. "Another factor that could be an issue is being undernourished."
Ary tilted her head and squinted, "I am at a decent weight for my height."
Dajon was confused for a moment until his brain dissected what undernourished meant, "hold on now, Doc-"
"I was not trying to offend you," she stared at Ary, "but you are five foot six, weighing one-thirty... sometimes one-twenty-five... your weight seems to fluctuate."
"I have never seemed to have an issue with anything else because of my frame."
"I am just offering you two additional factors, Mrs. Davidson... a person overweight can have infertility issues as well, it's just the weird way science does things."
