To be lonely is one thing, being alone is another. Not many people can fathom the idea of being alone when it seems as if those around them are enjoying life. But being lonely, a loner, and being alone are different things that have different meanings for different people. Fortunately, in Lucky's case, those words were wiped from his vocabulary. Love was his favorite thing to say.

Being a husband felt like a blessing to him. He was a father. He loved being a dad and being on a healing journey was doing nothing but forcing him to open doors that he tried to keep close. Love surrounded him and it's what he felt whenever he was in Ava's presence.

It was April the 2nd, Lucky and Ava were on day twelve of the 14-date challenge and had been enjoying things. They hired Hilarie and it took Zora three days to get comfortable around her. Of course, they had nanny cams set up whenever they had to leave and would check Zora for any bruises. Trusting a stranger with their daughter in their home was new territory but they were trying not to be so paranoid about things.

"What is your favorite thing I ever did for a special occasion for you?" Ava asked Lucky as she helped herself to part of his lobster tail.

"Hmm... when you put together tha' game room for me," he smiled, "I still can't get over it..."

"You deserved it," she replied.

"What about you?" he queried, dipping the cajun fries into the special sauce.

"When you put together my studio."

"I knew you'd say dat," he chuckled.

"Next card... who was your first kiss?" she smirked at him.

"Damn..." he chuckled, leaning back. "next time I'ma shuffle."

Ava snickered, "bad question?"

"Nah," he cleared his throat, "it's just... like my first real kiss was you."

Shocked, Ava just stared at him, "seriously?"

"I told you I never dated and plus I got locked up before I was able to finish high school... never got a chance to experience any of dat," he explained.

"You never kissed anyone before me? Not even tha' women you slept with in passing?" she was in complete disbelief.

"Kissing women I slept with to get my rocks off? Not my thing."

"Oh wow," were the only words she could say. "I don't know why but I always figured you kissed a few people before meeting me."

"Nah... I can protect my dick with condoms, can't do dat for my mouth. Best way to not catch some shit is to not do it," he shrugged before digging into his cajun fried rice.

"It's funny you say dat because tha' way you kissed me for tha' first time... I assumed you were a pro at it... so how'd you learn how to kiss or it's just something dat came naturally?"

"With you... a lot of stuff came naturally," he admitted.

"Happy to know," she smiled, picking up another card, "do you consider yourself a jealous person?"

Lucky chuckled, "not at all, you?"

"I don't believe so, do you think I am?"

"Nah," he smiled softly as he picked up another card, "What can I do to make sure you feel safe with me?"

"Getting deep," she laughed nervously then exhaled, "I'm not sure how to answer because I always feel safe with you."

"You sure?"

"Yes," she promised.

"Ok," shrugging, he picked up another card, "whoa..."

"What?" she laughed at his expression.
