"I don't have an ego named Con."

"...Huh?"

"The Host cuts in to say that that is impossible! He senses that Sean and the Septics are aware of Con's existence!"

"Look. Maybe I forgot about him... If it's been long enough to. I forgot about ANTI at one point, okay? You can't blame me for possibly forgetting someone with such a forgettable name! Anti is FAR more rememberable than that, and I sure as hell forgot him! Look, I'll do some searching... Does he have any traits that stand out? Or anything like that?"

"Look for a cat named Static. Con is... Like a cat-lady and likes calling children 'kittens'. He has black eyes with light purple irises, and a very... Edgy clothing style. Basically- a teenager with a fondness for cats."

"...Huh. Must've been drunk off my ass when I made him. No wonder I can't remember. He must've known he was a mistake and ran away."

"SEAN!"

"MCLOUGHLIN!"

"I'm joking! Don't kill me!... But you have to admit it's probably true. ANYWAYS! I'll look around... Stay safe, guys. Bye."

"Bye!"

"...Bye."

"Goodbye, said The Host as Sean hung up."

The three went silent as Sean hung up.

"Well... That was something." Mark spoke up.

"I'm going to call Con." Dark huffed. "The Host requests that Dark doesn't-" "I'm not going to talk about this! I just need to talk with him." Dark scowled, shooting a glare at Host as he went upstairs, but he didn't mean anything by it.

"...He's getting too attached, and we know practically nothing about that guy." Mark grumbled, just a tad bit jealous. "You're wrong." "What?" "You're wrong, Mark." The YouTuber was slightly disturbed that Host said that... As if the universe itself was against Mark's words.

"The Host informs Mark that we know a lot about Con. We just know HIM for HIM, not what he was created for... But isn't it better than the other way around? If you'd only known Dark was a dark ego when you met him... And DIDN'T know his backstory or who he ACTUALLY WAS as a PERSON... Would you still have loved him like a brother? Perhaps... Con's hiding what his character was... Because he's scared."

The way The Host was talking... It was... Odd. For him at least. He still spoke the truth... And still spoke in half-third-person... But it was different.

A good kind of different.

"Heh... I suppose you're right."

"The Host is always right."

"Okay, fuck off." Mark snickered, but then sighed. "I'm just worried about him, is all... This 'Con' guy is... Like you said, an enigma. I just-" "Fear of the unknown is natural for mankind. But... The Host would like to believe Con is trustworthy... The Host feels it's true."

"...Yeah. But either way... Let's hope Dark doesn't say anything."

------------

Bzzz... Bzzz... Bzzz... Bzzz...

"Hello~! It's been a bit, Darky~! How've ya been, big boy~?"

"Oh, god, don't call me that. Illinois is bad enough- not you too."

"Heheheh~! I'm just teasing. What's up?"

"...Nothing. I just wanted to talk to you..."

"Dark."

"What?"

"Don't fucking lie to me. Something's bothering you... What's wrong?"

"...I-I can't..."

"Dark... I don't care what it is... You know I won't get mad."

"...We called Sean... Talked to him."

"Oh, dear! Is he okay?!"

"What? He's fine, why-"

"Wow! I'm surprised! He had a full-blown conversation without hurting his head!"

"Con!"

"Heheheh! I'm sorry, couldn't help it... Continue."

"...We asked him about you."

"..."

"He said he doesn't remember you... But would look into it. He says that he's forgotten Anti existed before, so it's not an uncommon occurrence."

"..."

"...Con?"

"...That bastard."

"Calm down! You can't blame him!"

"Ugh... Whatever."

"Con?"

"It doesn't matter! ANYWAYS! Got that off your chest, huh? So, what are you worried about? The dumbass can't even remember how to spell his own last name sometimes..."

"Con, why don't you live with the Septics?"

"Dark... We've discussed this... It doesn't matter."

"You always skirt around the issue! Why the hell do you hate them so much when they don't even remember you?!"

"Dark-!"

"THE TRUTH!"

"THE TRUTH?! YOU WANT THE DAMN TRUTH, DARK?!"

"YES! MORE THAN ANYTHING!"

"THEY DIDN'T FUCKING WANT ME!"

"..."

"..."

"...What...?"

"They... They didn't WANT me... You were right, Dark... I WAS a mistake."

"...Con, I'm sorry... I..."

"It's fooking fine..."

"...Goddamn..."

"..."

"...When this is over, we're getting YOU a therapist."

"Nah... Then you'd have to get EVERYONE a therapist and that would be a pain in the ass..."

A small sniffle came from the other side of the phone, and Dark's heart melted. "I'm sorry..."

"Don't be... Ugh... I... I have you, right? And you have me, partner~!"

"..."

"Right?"

"...Always and forever."

"Always and forever~!"
