Sean didn't know what else to say. Really, what COULD he say...?
Actually, he knew a good start.
"I-I... God damn... This really IS my fault, isn't it?... I-I'm so fucking sorry, Anti." Sean took a step closer to the couch... Closer to Anti... His ego.
The broken ego he abandoned.
"If it makes you feel better... Which, I doubt it will... You did it. You really did prove me wrong."
Anti gave a small huff of amusement, "I've done that LONG ago... But I don't blame you for-" "Stop." Sean scowled, tears pricking his eyes. This was HIS fault, and even after so many years... Anti still wouldn't truly blame him. He really has proved himself over and over again... When the rest of the egos never had to prove themselves even once.
In reality, all of the Septics were blaming themselves for Anti's misery.
If Jackie hadn't said all that shit... Anti wouldn't have been hurting so much.
If Marvin hadn't reacted like that, he wouldn't have dropped the knife and given them the wrong idea.
If Henrik had reacted and gotten to the room before Anti left, he would've been able to tell something was wrong with him.
If Chase had paid attention and been the father figure he was supposed to be, he would've seen the signs of Anti's pain sooner.
If Jameson... Well, JJ never did anything wrong, and there was nothing he COULD'VE done to improve the situation... But he did wish he'd been more insistent about giving Anti a chance, or even just defended him with Henrik while the others wanted to kill him.
And Robbie hadn't even been made yet, but he did want to cheer Anti up.
But even though all the Septics felt guilty, it was known- especially to Sean- that it was mostly his fault.
But then something came to mind.
"Wait! Something doesn't add up! You said you were alone, but what about that cat? Sean made him, right?" Jackie piped up. "Uhh... Actually, Jackie, I DID make him, but... I made Consequences over a year after Anti left. And originally, he wasn't FOR Anti, he was for Marvin. But Anti had been messing with one of my videos when they met. The little shit decided he REALLY liked Anti and left with him... Now I know why. They really are the perfect match." Sean chuckled a bit.
"Oh... That's almost disappointing, but I'm glad Anti got a companion... Eventually." Marvin reached over to scratch Consequences behind the ear, "it IS kind of funny that you just used your cat's name."
"I don't think it's funny." Dark pouted, leaning away from his friend as if upset at him. Anti giggled, "c'mon~! You know I had to do it!" "I don't care." Dark turned away; he actually was upset... But not at his friend. He was pissed at the damned Septics, and hated that Anti had to keep all of this from him... "Oh, you know you love me~! Suck it up! I've told you now... I promise there will never be any secrets again, asshat..." Anti leaned against Dark's side, practically forcing the other to stop ignoring him.
Dark sighed and gave in, wrapping his arms around the glitch in a hug, "anymore secrets and I'll lock you up and keep you in the basement forever, you bitch." Anti almost choked on his own saliva, trying to squirm out of the trap that was Dark's embrace, "ya fecker! Stop tryin' ta scare me! It ain't workin'!"
The others chuckled at their antics, but no one was actually in a good mood... Not after that.
"Anti... We really are sorry. You-you can move in with us, if you'd like? We'd love to welcome you to the family..." Sean tried, cracking a smile. But everyone already knew the answer to that, "sorry, Sean... I... I can't... I just... I can't take that heartbreak... That hatred again..." Anti shook his head, stopping his struggle against Dark.
"Anti, you know that won't-!" "Vell, it's his choice! And I respect his decision!... But... I fecking claim zhis child as family anyway, and zhere's nothing anybody could do OR say to stop me! How it should've been from zhe start." Henrik went up and ruffled Anti's hair, making the glitch giggle.
"Fuck yeah, dude! That's the spirit! Anti, you don't have to live with us... But you're ours now, and you'll just have to suck it up!" Chase grinned and teasingly poked his Nerf gun against Anti's chest. "Robbie... Also loves you..." Robbie snuggled against the glitch's leg. And soon, all of the Septics were in on it.
"So, Anti... Have you considered it?"
