"Do you need me to fight Seresin for you?" Bradshaw texted. "Because you know I will. I've been looking for an excuse to sock that man in the face." Sammy laughed at her friend and started texting back immediately.
"I'm pretty sure I can take that man down myself, but thanks for the offer."
"You sure? Like are you positive," Rooster asked.
"Oh my god, bud, if you wanna punch that man in the face then go for it. You don't need an excuse to punch him. His shit-eating grin is enough."
"But I kind of like my rank and my job," Bradshaw said, partially retracting his statement. Sammy was confused, but waited patiently for the follow-up text. "But I also hate that man. Just know if you give me the word, I'll do it."
"Haha, okay thanks, Bradshaw. But remember who did better than you on the last PRT at flight school and did kickboxing throughout their time at Academy and flight school."
"I tied my shoes too tight during that, okay? And you can kick anyone's ass whenever you want to," Bradshaw made excuses for himself and threw flattery in there, but Sammy knew he was laughing on the other side.
"Sure, buddy," Sammy replied. "You let me know if you need me to beat someone up for you, okay?"
"I do have a favor to ask of you." Bradshaw texted back a few seconds later. Sammy's brow furrowed at her phone.
"What's up?"
"You wanna go to the beach at some point?"
"Why?" Sammy asked, not complaining about the beach trip, but out of sheer curiosity.
"I want to see who is truly the stronger of the two of us."
"Are you going to tackle me, Bradshaw?"
"Would you like that?"
"Not on wet sand," Sammy replied, laughing to herself.
"Where can I tackle you then?"
"Go to bed, Rooster."
"Maybe I don't want to?"
"Then I'm going to bed. Night, Bradshaw."
"Night, Sammy."
Sammy put her phone down and snuggled into bed under her covers, closing her already heavy eyelids when the buzzing of her phone woke her up again. She grabbed her phone angrily and looked at the message.
"Do you want breakfast tomorrow morning?" Sam groaned a bit and answered Rooster right back.
"Bradshaw, we have to be there at 7am. What place would be open at like 5am?"
"Oh I know a great breakfast burrito place down the road from my apartment. I wanted to know if you wanted one. I'm getting Trace one."
"Oh, then I'll take one then."
"Cool cool," he replied, but texted her right back as Sammy went to put her phone back on her nightstand. "Wait, backtrack. Are you willing to go out and get breakfast with me?"
"Bradshaw, go to bed."
"Not until you answer me."
"Then you're going to be exhausted tomorrow. And I refuse to be your wingman then."
"You want to be my wingman?"
"Not the point, Rooster."
"You're so obsessed with me."
