In the middle of the night Kurt wakes up. He had a horrible nightmare.
But not only he wakes up but also Blaine, who felt Kurt moving a lot in his sleep. "Kurt are you okay?" the curly haired boy asks. First Kurt wants to nod, like he always does and push Blaine away again but he realizes that it might be good to talk to someone so he shakes his head "No".
"Is it about earlier today? Who did you saw?" Blaine asks worried. The other boy takes a deep breath and tells "I thought I saw this guy. The criminal who... who raped me".
At the mention of that man Blaines eyes grow wide "But why didn't you tell me at the shop already? Wait- I thought he's in prison". The other boy nods "I thought so too but I don't know if there's a possibility that he's out by now. That's why I'm not sure if it's really him".
"From now on we'll be extra careful outside and at breakfast we'll tell Burt. And if you want to talk then I'm here" Blaine says, taking Kurts hand carefully. The other boy smiles a bit, once again grateful to have Blaine. "Thank you B" he whispers "But it's the middle of the night, we're both tired and I don't really feel like talking. Let's just go back to sleep". "Okay" Blaine answers, turning off the light again.
Both boys lay down but before Blaine could fall asleep he hears Kurt whispering "Blaine?". "Hm?" the other boy mumbles so Kurt continues "Can you hold me?". "Of course Honey" Blaine says and takes his boyfriend in his arms. Then he kisses him on the forehead and dives off to sleep. Kurt cuddles closer in Blaines arms and the comfort and safety they give him.
The next day Kurt tells his father who they saw and worried about his boy Burt starts to make some rules. Rules like: Kurt isn't allowed to be outside when it's dark. Either he's home or at Blaines but somewhere safe and not alone. Kurt is okay with that. He'll do as he got told and Blaine promised to help him.
The thought of this man being back again follows Kurt everywhere but Blaine is always there to help him stay calm. It's been eight dayssince Kurt has seen the man. Kurt counted.
Kurt is glad to have Blaine. His boyfriend had done so much for the blue eyed boy already. Thanks to Blaine, Kurt is himself again. He's happy again. He listenes to Kurt. He's there for him. Blaines planned dates are always the best.
But at this moment one o the most important thing to Kurt is, that although this criminal is free again, Blaine helped him to stay grounded. He still does. And for that and for everything Kurt wants to thank his boyfriend.
Kurt plans everything. It's been one more week now or 15 days in other words, Kurt is still counting, since Blaine is there to help Kurt not to worry too much when he's about to freak out. But it should be a surprise for Blaine so Kurt has to keep everything in secret.
Which is actually harder than the boy thought. He knows that Blaine pays attention to Kurt very closely to notice if he needs help to calm down again. Therefore he already noticed that Kurt acts odd lately.
Something has to be wrong. Something has to go on. Blaine just hopes that Kurt will come around soon because he doesn't want to push Kurt into telling him. That's a last resort option.
Blaine is worried about his boyfriend. He seems distant and Kurt feels cut out. It's been a week and Blaine decides that there's the limit. He doesn't really has another chance than to talk to Kurt.
He even has the perfect opportunity. After school the two boys will go to the Anderson house. Kurt will sleep at his place and that's when Blaine can ask him what's wrong.
After school the boys go home to the Andersons like planned and are greeted by both parents, sitting in their office. The adults have work to do that they need to finish now since later that day they both will attend a business dinner and leave the teenage boys alone at home. Once again.
At first the boys do their homework so later when they have the house for themselves they can do what they want.
At about six in the evening the Anderson parents are ready to leave, dressed up in business but still elegant clothes. With a last wave goodbye the adults leave for their dinner.
Now finally alone at home Kurt and Blaine decide to put away their homework, deciding they did enough for today. Besides it's mostly the work on their project what they worked on and by now they worked on the last details of the script. As soon as it gets warmer again they can start filming. But for now Blaine turns on the tv, debating with Kurt about what to cook for dinner.
After finally deciding what to make for dinner Kurt goes in the kitchen, Blaine following him. Within minutes the kitchen turns into a karaoke bar again as the boys sing and dance around, preparing the food and having fun, laughing happily.
Because of all the fooling around it's already past nine when the couple sits down to eat. Normally they would've eaten earlier but since there are no adults around, there's no one who cares.
After dinner Kurt and Blaine clean up the kitchen and sit down on the couch again to cuddle. Or more Blaine cuddles into Kurts side but Kurt is on his phone with his free hand the whole time, texting with whoever.
Blaine wants to take a look but each time he tries to do so, Kurt reacts and turns his phone away from the cuddling boy. Kurt wouldn't cheat right? But what else could it be?
"Honey who are you texting with?" Blaine asks and the questioned boy answers "My dad" with an disinterested shrug. That's enough for Blaine.
"Kurt stop cutting me off!" he says, sitting up straight. Kurt knows that he does but still he answers "I don't". His surprise will stay secret. That's for sure.
This time the curly haired boy stands up "Yes you do!". Not wanting to feel small Kurt stands up as well "So what if? Why do you even want to talk about this now?". "Because I'm worried about you" Blaine answers.
But the other boy somehow can sense that there's something else in Blaines mind so he doesn't answer and just keeps looking at him with a suspicious and piercing look.
The curly haired boy sighs "Who is the person you're always texting with lately?". "Non of your business" the taller boy answers. No. He can't tell Blaine. It would ruin everything he prepared with all his heart.
"Kurt are you cheating on me?" Blaine now asks straight forward. The other boy is in shock "W-What? You think that I would cheat? Really Blaine?". It breaks his heart that Blaine thinks like that and oviously doesn' fully trusts him.
"I mean maybe. You're cold. You cut me off, you're busy and can't tell me what you do and you keep texting with someone but doesn't tell me who. It kinda feels like it" Blaine concludes.
Now Kurt has enough "You know what? I'm out. If you really think I would cheat on you, the only person I let close to me, then I shouldn't be here but with whoever I cheat on you with. Right?".
With that the boy takes his jacket and opens the door. He knows he should probably just tell Blaine about the surprise but Blaines thought hurt him and now he's just stubborn.
"Kurt it's almost 10 pm. It's dark outside. You shouldn't go now" Blaine says, trying to keep the boy from leaving. But Kurt is determined "Goodbye Blaine".
He goes outside, closing the door behind him. Blaine opens the door again, yelling that Kurt should get back inside but Kurt doesn't react. Only after he's around the corner Kurt allows the tears to fall.
When Kurt is around the corner Blaine realizes it's no use to keep yelling. He won't come back. He should go after him but his legs just don't want the way he does.
Instead he closes the door and slides down the door to the ground, feeling the tears running down his cheeks. Why did he accused Kurt of such a horrible thing. He should known that Kurt wouldn't do that. Like he said, he's the only person Kurt let in like no other.
Kurt goes home, knowing that his father will be mad at him for being outside while it's already dark outside and knowing that Blaine will worry about him.
But right now he doesn't care. He couldn't stay at Blaines. He just wants to go home, crawls under a blanket, maybe get some comfort from Carol or something and sleep. But there's someone changing his plan.
